I live down a single lane road but is it so beautiful at Christmas. Two house up on the right, the house is decorated with lights and a machine that plays Christmas music all the time. The lights on both the house and the garage is connected to the machine. The lights blink to the beat of the music. It is cute but I am glad that I don't live next door to them. Can you imagine trying to sleep with the lights blinking all the time and the music playing all night? Have you seen outdoor decoration in your community like this?
The home next to us is all decorated in the yard but not so much on the house. It looks like they did not spend a lot of time decorating. The lights are not straight and that is very visible as you drive by. Do you decorate your yard? Does your neighbors decorate their yard?
On up the street, there is a home that decorated the outdoor trees, not the pines but the oaks and such. No leaves are on them and the lights look terrible. They look like they are jut thrown out there with no shape or design to them. They also decorate their rail fence around the yard but it has several different kinds of lights on it. So it does not look neat and inviting. It has the most lights in the community and looks the worst.
We have been increasing our decoration each year from the year before. We wait until after Christmas and purchase lights and such for the next year. Our home is starting to take shape now. Hopefully, next year we will have it looking nice.
There is a home up on the hill from us who have decorated each year with an amazing amount of lights and outdoor decoration. Everyone drives up to just look at it. They even have a comment box sitting off the main road where people can drop off a comment if they would like. However, this year they did not do the outdoor decoration. We don't know why they didn't decorate outdoors this year, but we all miss it.
I love driving around and just looking at the beautiful decorations around the community. One of my friends, gathers up her entire family. They listen to Christmas CD's and just drive around looking at the lights. They take a thermos full of hot chocolate and a dish of homemade cookies. They have done this ever since I have known them. It is a tradition. What are some of your Christmas traditions?

I would be concerned about my father decorating also. He is 72. My Brothers go and help him out though. At that age, it is so easy to break bones.
Someone was going around busting the blow up yard decoration around town.
I didn't think the music was all that loud when we drove by that one night and Dad had us listen to it.
I didn't even know they made a machine like that until you guys showed us that one!
This just made me laugh because I know who you're talking about and what you think of them. LOLOL
We decorate our porch, front door, and house. I want to get some of those lighted deer to set up for next year and some of the lighted candy canes to line our "walk" with.
The lady down the road from us decorates MASSIVELY. Lights, nativity set, wreaths, just stuff EVERYWHERE!!!!!
Our actual next-door neighbors haven't decorated before until this year after we put up our lights, they did their house too. Don't know what made them this year since they'd never done it before and they are very low on money right now. Hmmm.
Are you talking about that house across the river? I didn't think it looked all that bad. I never like it when people decorate trees that don't have leaves or a shape to them or anything. I agree that it looks rather odd.
I've been doing this too! I already had Ron make a list earlier today of what all I wanted to look for and buy now that it will be on sale. I'm hoping they put those reindeer on sale, although I imagine they're all gone now. People are really big on those down here. I should have bought them a few weeks ago when Walmart had them for only $15 a piece for a buck and doe.
Tina was really disappointed I think. I think those people must be insane though. There are some people up in Florence that do that too. They even named their street Christmas Lane. They're all insane. LOL

I want my MP3 player so bad. They have it up at Rite aid but I dont have the money until friday. We are flat broke.
Today ended up being a complete lazy day. I did absolutely nothing productive at all. I even napped for 2 hours this afternoon because I was cold. I went and curled up in the covers to get warm and the next thing I know, it's 2 hours later, lol!
