I appreciate this post Don as I havent listened to the news yet today. Thanks
Do you have a link to the story? I have got to read this for myself!
Sad to say, Hillary is the most admired female. I think she is most admired by Republicans though because her nomination is a sure win for the Repubs in 2008.
(1) President Bush/VP Cheney started the War in Iraq for what reason? If we were not in a national emergency because of terrorism, I fully believe that articles of impeachment would have/should be brought against Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. WMD's were not found there. What compelling reason was there to go to war?
Between Iraq and Afghanistan we are spending $1 billion per week! Yes, you did read that correctly. We cannot continue to spend those kind of dollars indefinitely.
(2) The Border: Bush has done nothing to secure the border or to address the problem of illegal immigration. He is in love with Mexico. His record here is pitiful.
(3) Prescription Drugs; The most expensive entitlement program since the Great Society, this program turned out to be too confusing and too expensive for seniors. Most wanted to keep their private coverage, which was, surprise, better than what the government had to offer.
(4) Why was Alberto Gonzalez named Attorney General and Michael Chertoff named head of Homeland Security?
(5) Social Security Reform, Income Tax reform, tort reform, 0 for 3 here.
(6) The Great Decider in Chief is changing his tune on Global Warming/man-made climate change. Why?
(7) President Bush signed a humungous omnibus spending bill into law today. He is bitching about how much pork is in it, but what has he done to curtail spending, which has risen exponentially under his presidency.
(8) FEMA dropped Katrina relief on Bush's watch. Read Doug Brinkley's book for a balanced account of how government is NOT supposed to work.
(9)Harriet Miers. Does this need further elaboration?
Yeah...I agree. What's not to admire?
Blaze on, Donnie, blaze on!!
10% think Bush is admirable
Ten percent of Americans, when put on the spot, will name the President as "most-admired.
Since 1981, the current President has always won this poll.
According to the same USA Today, Bush has the highest negatives of any President since polling began.
(He sank lower than Carter last year).
Thank Heavens that 90% of Americans can see through the lies, deception, and corruption of the AWOL in Chief.
Well it must be true , I mean 10% of 1,011 people............................................
You will grasp any straw , no matter how pathetic.
The economy is still doing well. Is it changing? You bet... we've been going through these changes since NAFTA (Clinton). Libs need to wake up to this fact -- we are in a global economy. Regardless, jobs are plentiful. And if you are having trouble finding a decent paying job, I would bet you've got little in the way of skills and are more likely to be found at a bar after your 8 hour mind-numbing job.
Immigration problems? Could it be America is still a desireable place to live? Of course. And could it be that all you libs want you lawn mowed for next to nothing.... it's market driven. Collectively, we have been allowing this to happen for decades. Of course, if you're a moonbat, it started on Bush's watch and it's all his fault. (is it any wonder you have that low paying job?)
Plenty of great opportunities folks... just stop wallowing in your own misery and work hard and work smart. America is the greatest country, and Bush has done a great job when all things are considered (I know, you forgot he's had to deal with 911, two wars, 4 Florida hurricanes, Katrina --- basically, no president has had more difficult issues to deal with in my lifetime).
Viva la Bush!
That's why you're a moonbat. You're confused with simple math. Many people were considered, so of course it's a low number. Obama got 5%... does that give you a better picture?
What about unlawful wire tapping Don---and who was it directed at---maybe that little click on the line is not static.
What about warrant less searches without probable course explain that one to me.
What about 9/11 was an inside job and the proof is in how steel beam can melt from a common fire.
History is full of Government creating crisis to take away freedoms and advanced slavery and crush free will, oh I forgot public schools don't teach history only the watered down version.
Your freedom of speech and of Assembly are gone try doing it in Crawford County Texas.
Why did Bush pay news media 1.8 billion dollar, its all a matter of record if you care to read it.
Explain to me why gas is around $3.00 a gal.
Explain why I cannot buy made in USA at Wal Mart or any other store, explain all the factories closers and where are they now.
Tell me what was and is the main souse of income for the whole Bush family over the past 50 years?
Show me the weapons of mass destruction, tell me why if we took over a country and it is under our control why are we not getting that oil..
What peace and order have we brought to Iraq?
Don you need to seek out the truth and quit watching fantasy TV that is controlled by the Government.
Uh...sparky...I hate to be the one to break this to you like this, but...uh...we're the ones that put Saddam in power, armed him with WMD, and told them how to use them.
"Same deal in Afghanistan -- Taliban tossed out on their asses."
Uh...sparky...I hate to be the one to break this to you like this as well, but, uh...the Taliban and drug lords are taking Afghanistan back as we speak. The entire nation is on the cusp of complete collapse. Sorry.
"I know libs want instant success and whine and complain about EVERYTHING, but that's not reality folks."
No, actually, we wanted your boyfriend to go after terrorists, not invade and occupy a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11.
"In time, Bush's policies will win -- good defeats evil."
What exactly is "good" about illegal, unnecessary war and occupation of a country that did NOTHING against us? And, how is us pissing $12 billion down the toilet every single month going to accomplish anything but bankrupt us? Oh, I almost forgot...wingnuts never met debt spending and massive growth of the federal government that they didn't pee themselves to embrace.
" Oh... and I almost forgot, how many terrorist attacks on US soil since 911? None. Zip. Thank you President Bush for not being a pussy."
So, was it the fact that he launched an illegal attack on a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11, thereby enraging the entire Muslim world and creating a massive explosion of global terrorism, leaving our borders wide open, leaving our nuclear and chemical plants wide open, leaving our seaports and airports virtually wide open, destroying our national treasury, or destroying our constitution that has prevented another attack? Hmmmm?
The answer, of course, is "none of the above." There is absolutely NOTHING that your boyfriend has done that has done ANYTHING to make us ONE SHRED safer. Period. Meanwhile, it was fully 8 years between the first WTC attack and the second. Thank you Bill Clinton for keeping us safe from harm for so long. Too bad, Bush stole the white house and quickly ignored the threat altogether, thereby granting the "evil doers" free access to do their will.
"The economy is still doing well."
Yeah, it sure is. Wages for the lower 95% have stagnated and have actually lost ground, millions of jobs have been lost, only to be replaced by jobs that pay far less and with minimal, if any benefits. Millions are losing their homes. The stock market loses hundreds of points in a given day. Personal debt is at an all-time high. Home value have fallen the most dramatically that they have in 16 years. We're an ADDITIONAL $3 trillion in republiCON debt since Bush stole office. Bankruptcies continue to rise. Inflation is rising far faster than wages can account for. Yeah, the economy is doing just grand.
"Immigration problems?"
No, we don't have an illegal immigration problem. We have an illegal HIRING problem, because you wingnuts can't resist hiring people for a nickle an hour, so you can stuff more cash into your wallets while you're screwing your customers and your country. What did your boyfriend do about the problem? Oh yeah...nothing, for 6 years, and then a "brilliant" amnesty program. Nice.
"Bush has done a great job when all things are considered (I know, you forgot he's had to deal with 911, two wars, 4 Florida hurricanes, Katrina --- basically, no president has had more difficult issues to deal with in my lifetime)"
Did it ever occur to you that the reason why your boyfriend has had so much to deal with is because he's a shit president that creates disaster everywhere he goes? First, he wouldn't have had to deal with 9/11 if he'd have just been paying attention to the numerous threats and warnings from the numerous intelligence agencies from around the world. Secondly, he CHOSE those two wars, so he wouldn't have had to deal with those, either. Third, hurricanes are a part of every president's life. Why should your boyfriend get a pass, simply because he was so incompetent that he didn't know how to respond to them? Fourth, perhaps if your boyfriend wasn't so busy destroying our constitution and covering up his own corruption scandals, you wouldn't be forced to make excuses for him, huh?
"That's why you're a moonbat. You're confused with simple math. Many people were considered, so of course it's a low number. Obama got 5%... does that give you a better picture?"
That's why you're a blithering idiot. You're confused with simple reality. Bush's name is a household word. Few people in this country have even heard of Obama, let alone know that he isn't Iraq's leader. For Bush to have 10% of the population stupid enough to consider him worthy of admiration is, on the one hand unfathomable, based upon how widely he's considered an utter failure and corrupt to the bone. On the other hand, that's a remarkably low number, when you consider that everyone in this country knows precisely who he is.
And, in this case, the more telling number is the number of people who view him with contempt.
I'm whining about the fact that this President spends money like a drunken sailor on shore-leave. Economy good? Yeah, I'll give you that, but it is built on spit-and-tissue. We have way too much consumer debt, the War on Terror costs $1 billion per week, and entitlement spending has soared, not in large part to Mr. Bush's Prescription Drug plan.
Yesterday the President signed a $555 billion omnibus spending bill. Great news that it does not hit us with tax increases. But you have GOT to reduce spending, something this president has not done, despite his lecturing of Democrats about "fiscal resposibility."
You can crow all you want about this "great economy," but when government has to start borrowing money to pay the bills and capital markets take a downturn during the next administration, which could be Democrat, you'll be one of the first in line screaming about how Hilliary has screwed up the economy.
Read up on Bush's efforts to pass the Totalization Agreement with Mexico whereby Mexicans can collect US Social Security.
Here is a great article on the measure: http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/totalization.htm
Phyllis Schlafly, another "whiner" has this to say
http://www.eagleforum.org/column/2003/jan03/03-01-15.shtml
Bush has been a horrible President, not only by Conservative standards, but, more importantly, by American standards.
By the way I didn't vote for my paperboy.
I voted for your paperboy. John Birch, right?
Bush is admired by 10% of those polled. Clinton by 18%. To quote Clark Griswold (in both cases) ... "Nothing to be proud of, Russ."
Not one terrorist attack on US soil. Sorry, you're wrong again.
"the Taliban and drug lords are taking Afghanistan back as we speak"
In your dreams. The ATTEMPT to make a comeback and get killed. Lose your loser mentality.
The whole administration is full of repressed homosexuals
Murdering innocent people and invading sovereign nations will not make them straight , for Gods sake they were born that way.
So come out of the closet Bush Cheney and company , mane love not war.
Are you on crack? Those levees were in the state they were due to negligence on the state of New Orleans. Tell me, were the Levees perfect before the war in 2003, then all of a sudden, they were no good because we went to war? Typical lib...
"Bush= idiotic closet homosexual"
You seem to have issues with gay people. I thought that stuff didn't matter to you moonbats.
And yet the Democrat controlled Congress has ratings lower than Bush.
I have no problem with gays and I am proud to be a "moonbat" , you fascist!
Being an admitted "moonbat" is a dubious distinction.
I truly fear for the future of this country with the increased polarism and even hate speak from both (or even more?) sides of the political spectrum.
Bush and the Neocons
By Chris Pepus

When you know the Truth, the facts don't seem so important.
Craig Unger, a contributing editor for Vanity Fair, garnered national attention with his previous book, House of Bush, House of Saud. Michael Moore cited it as a key source for Fahrenheit 9/11, and the film popularized the author's reports on Saudi investments in Bush family enterprises. In The Fall of the House of Bush: The Untold Story of How a Band of True Believers Seized the Executive Branch, Started the Iraq War, and Still Imperils America's Future, Unger turns his attention to neoconservative officials and theorists. At times he focuses so closely on neocon tactics that he misses other forces driving Bush-Cheney policies. Even so, the book offers a vivid account of the use of disinformation to promote extremism.
Unger traces the origins of Bush's foreign policy to the 1970s, when prominent bureaucrats and writers gathered around such converts to conservatism as Irving Kristol and Albert Wohlstetter. The neocons scored their first big success in 1976, when two of their allies in President Ford's administration, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, created a group outside the CIA to assess the Soviet threat. That panel, dubbed Team B, was staffed by neocon worthies and led by Richard Pipes of Harvard University. One of the group's advisers was a Wohlstetter protege named Paul Wolfowitz.

If I'm going to admire my president, I'd like to see him get one single speach right. Have one Original Thought, or Vote FOR the People, NOT the corporations ONCE in his short shabby life.
(Are you starting to get the feeling that I'm not proud of the man?)
I so want him impeached--if not before the election--then immediately following it.
Wilka
Another moonbat. Want in one hand, shit in the other, see which fills first.
A 10 for keeping it real.
Yeah... she can't even beat Obama or Edwards... so what are you smoking? She's now running in third place as an underdog (and underscore the dog part). She is going to get creamed in New Hampshire.
Carla, would you please stop pointing out that Clark said all kinds of FACTS to Delusional Donnie!! He doesn't deal well with facts and truths!!!
