Did you get let down on Christmas? I know, I know, the season is all about giving, but come on, everyone has something that they really wanted. In my case this year, I didn't really have a huge list of items. I wanted some road bike stuff, which I got. My let down came in the fact that I'm showing my age. Most every gift I got yesterday was a gift for our house, not for me. There was nothing fun. No movies. No video games. I'm watching my nephews play with Disney Cars toys. I'm watching my niece get excited about her Hannah Montana party supplies, and I got a porch swing and an outdoor fireplace. Don't get me wrong, both are cool, but it's December 26. I can't play with any of it. The most fun stuff I got was this.
I guess it was to be expected. As a new homeowner, you get to be more of an adult and less of a kid. Your toys become less exciting. I can't help but think that when Jesus comes back, we will have the glee and foy of little kids again, and it will be awesome. Like Aslan, death will work backwards.

There must be something ego boosting about making others happy.
