I am enjoying this Christmas night better than all the Christmas parties and family get-togethers that we have had in the last few days.
My parents were here at our house for the last two days. We got to watch the kids open presents from Santa and there were even presents under the tree from Santa for us. My Dad cooked a beautiful Christmas dinner at noon today. We had a big juicy cooked ham, green bean casserole, hot rolls, scalloped cheese potatoes, and peppermint dessert. It was a wonderful spread of food. We invited my husband's mother over to eat with us also and open some more gifts.
Now all the parties and gatherings are over. My parents are off work until Jan 3rd and they wanted to take the kids back to St. Louis with them until Sunday. They are also going to drive Maddie and Aidan through a Christmas light show this evening. So the noise is gone, the family is gone, the kids are gone. Is that a quiet/peaceful house I hear?? Why, yes it is!!!
So it's just me and my husband. I cherish this time with him. We don't get this time very often so I do not take it for granted. First we both took a 2 hour nap together. I forgot what a nap was! Now we are hanging out in the living room together watching tv and playing on the computer. We are getting ready to go out to our Christmas candle-light AA meeting at 8pm to spend time with our friends that have become like family to us.
Then I thought I needed to stop for a moment and tell all my new Gather friends a Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the new year ahead. Even though I have never met you in person, or have never seen you face to face, you have become friends to me too!
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Love you girl. I still have Christmas card for you on my counter. I keep thinking I will see you.
Just wanted you to know that Maddie got a hold of it and drew a nice crayon scribble drawing on it just for you.
I hope it was everything relaxing and wonderful.
I admire any couple who loves enough to work through the "tuff stuff" and keep it going on.
I know the AA family can be one of the brightest spots in your world, and feel--sometimes--more like family than real family. So.
Hope you enjoyed the quiet time...mine were rather rowdy after they got home from a trip with granna and gramps.
(Take your vitamins--LOL!)
Best and Warmest Regards,
Wilka
