I was just sitting here shivering and cursing the fact that I have to once again wear shoes. So I thought I'd share with you a few things that have changed for me in the last week.
I'm sure all you folks who didn't get to go to Mexico for six weeks this Fall will sympathize with me!
My footprints on December 17th...
And on December 24th...
On December 17th I saw this plant...
On December 24th, this is what I saw...
This is the road I traveled on December 17th... (notice the palm tree?)
On December 24th this was the view through the windshield...
And I saw these Roseate Spoonbills in a lagoon on December 17th...
And on December 24th it was Canada Geese...
I sure do miss Mexico!

Once again, your photos are amazing. I love the contrasts and each special detail. Thank you for sharing your change of scenery, I am sure you miss Mexico already.
Both places are lovely.

The After-Christmas Rummage Sale
Not only has the weather changed for me, but so has my daily schedule.
In Mexico my day started with a 5 mile walk on the beach, photographing birds, watching the dolphins swim, seeing the fishermen netting fish, and breathing the warm ocean breezes.
A leisurely lunch at the beach restaurant followed by a swim in the ocean before settling into a hammock to read a book before a siesta.
Afternoons on my porch practicing my Spanish with the local kids and teaching them a little English.
Evenings with friends for good conversation over a light dinner of tacos and pineapple mojitos.
Now, back in Oregon, it's 16 hour work days in rain, snow, and ice fixing the highways that were washed away by the flooding that took place while I was napping in a hammock.
Oh, well. The overtime will pay for a Spring trip to Mexico!
It sounds so beautiful to me how you spend the days on vacation. I would LOVE to do that someday.
No misery here. I just keep thinking about the next tropical trip.
From the day after Christmas to New Year's Day I racked up 100 hours at work. I will get 3 days off this month. The rest of the days will be 12 hours or more.
February 26th is the day I will once again kick off my shoes and feel the warm Mexican sand between my toes!
All the photos that say they were taken on December 17th were taken on December 17, 2007 in Mexico.
All the photos that say they were taken on December 24th were taken on December 24, 2007 in Oregon.
Since winter started on Dec. 22 I guess the Mexico pictures were taken in the Fall and the Oregon pictures were taken in the Winter.
But, the fact remains, they were taken a week apart.
