Now that we've found a name that sticks I've updated this from Gaucho to Bogart.
Pal is a cat. He is not the brightest cat I've ever met. In fact, there are times that we wonder whether he might have been deprived of oxygen during birth as he sometimes does some very strange things. His antics are entertaining though and living with him is a gift for he truly is the most loving cat I have ever met.
It does not matter the species. It does not matter the differences. Pal wants to be friends with every creature he encounters.
Today, little Bogart was feeling a little forlorn. We still need to keep him seperated from the other dogs. He is very young and recently weaned so there are all sorts of securities and comforts that he no longer can rely upon. Also, he is in an entirely new environment that he still is learning to negotiate. Pal seemed to understand all of this.

Bogart plopped down next to Pal on the dog bed.

He snuggled down, got really comfortable, and went to sleep.

Pal laid quietly with little Bogart while he took a long nap. I have no doubt that they will become fast friends. Pal has a history of that with boxers.

I think Buddy would be pleased that his beloved Pal has a new friend with which to snuggle.

I used to have a cat and a dog that were the best of friends... the kitten was actually weaned too early and took to nursing from the dog ...who, although terribly high strung, allowed it

Twas the Night Before Christmas in the Nursing Home
Animals and Christmas are a natural link. Do you know the story of how all the animals in the world can talk (human languages, that is) at midnight on Christmas morning? I wonder what Pal and Gaucho had to say?
What are the names of your horses?
I hope you all are enjoying your Christmas together.
And the lion has laid down with the lamb - albeit in different guise.
Ten stars from me
Bogart -- and I LOVE that new name for this puppy -- is taking all the kitty hugs he can get.
