A rumor started in the village this morning. Someone heard that rain was coming!
Most people laughed. The old-timers said it was crazy talk.
Rainy season has long been over here in the village.
But, as the day went on the clouds thickened. Thunder rumbled in the mountains.

The sky darkened an hour earlier than usual and there was an arco de iris, a rainbow, off to the north.
For the next 5 hours bolts of lightning came down in the sea. They hit up on the top of Guamilule, the hill to the south of the village. The most lightning was across the bay around Zihuatanejo.

Loud claps of thunder shook the village.
Toward the end of nature's lightshow the sound of rain on the tile roofs got everyone's attention. The people came out in the street. Talking, laughing, and enjoying the rain.
It wasn't a lot of rain. But, a rare occurence. The smell of rain on dust filled the air as did the laughter of the children playing in the street much later than they would usually be up on a school night.
Another special night in the village.
Hasta pronto, Amigos...
