Wandering through the elongated dimly lit passageway

I unexpectedly observe you adorning the wall

The halogen illumination attentive and it seems as if

 you call out to me

I study you continuously as time stands still

Noticing your massive size, the coarse texture

of the papyrus lies beneath the aquarelle

that screams out to me

 Captivating images of wafer-thin, fan shaped petals

The veining lines transfused, amidst the dotted

and diluted shades of various tones of eggplant and deep violet

Faintly feathered, pieces of eight are mixed within stems

topped with flowers compiled of the palest lavenders

and soft rich creams

Fuzzy raised beards so obscure in texture,

I just about want to finger them

You stand vigil and enhance

this otherwise ostensibly placed shadowed corner

of a corridor that takes you on a magical voyage

 somewhere over the rainbow.  mac 12/22/07
