So I went out early this afternoon for my whirlwind Christmas shopping spree. I think this is the first year that I didn't have it completed shortly after Thanksgiving. But when money is tight and you're relying on the holiday party side jobs to fund gift purchases, you obviously have no choice but to wait till the last minute.
I hit Best Buy, REI and Perimeter Mall (Crate & Barrel is there). I did it all in under 3 hours, which includes the drive time to and from that part of town. Not bad considering the traffic around Perimeter Mall and the fact that I probably parked .5 mile away from an entry store too, lol.
So I picked up a few new DVDs and an iTunes GC at Best Buy. I purchased a bunch of stuff at REI including a down camping pillow, two long sleeve Life is Good shirts, a Swiss Army zip wallet and a bunch of stocking stuffers like Cliff Bars, a cool carbiner keyring and some other stuff outdorrsy folks like. This is the best part though -- I purchased a pair of Acorn Outdoor brand slippers for me! More coming on these fantastic slippers in a bit.
At Crate & Barrel, I purchased some nice dish towels, kitchen nick-nacks and a few tins of their peanut butter meltaway candy. This stuff is delicious, by the way, and it makes an easy gift that's usually well received.
I also visited a few other stores in the mall and picked up some other odds and ends including an Aggies ballcap for my roommate. You see come Alamo Bowl time, it will be a war around these parts when my Penn State Nittany Lions play his Texas A&M Aggies. We're already talking smack and placing bets, lol.

Okay, back to the heaven for my feet. These slippers are lined fleece (as you can see) but what you can't see is that the inside foot padding is that wonderful magic foam stuff that many people have matress covers made of or even the matress itself.
My feet are killing me from standing on tile for 7 hours last night, wearing dressy shoes that I probably have not worn in 2 years. So putting these slippers onto my feet is absolutely wonderful. I'm really loving them!
Now I just gotta wrap, ugh!
At least my feet feel good :-)

Santa, AKA my mom, is bringing me some blue Ugg like boots. (I picked them out, so I know) I can't wait to get those puppies on my feet!
Gwen, when I worked in retail I took on extra hours in the gift wrapping department during holiday time. So I'm pretty fast and efficient when it comes to wrapping gifts.
Maybe another web search will turn them up.
Merry Christmas!!
for your tired feet.
