On my way home a week ago last night which was December 15th, I stopped in downtown Commerce, Georgia and took a few hundred photos of the decorations and store fronts.
It was only 8:30 p.m. but there was very little traffic on the main street. So it was quiet for me to take these photos. Kind of wish it had been raining. Not a lot of chances of that this year not with our draught going on.

We each see things in a different way, our life experience has taught us to see the things around us in certain ways. Sometimes it is good to look out side of that box we are living in to see things in a different light, to look at them from a different angle.
At Christmas time we put up decorations, lights, ornaments, trees what ever it maybe to show that it is a celebration of an event that took place over 2,000 years back in time. Sometimes I wonder if we have forgotten just what happened those long years back in time. We share our homes with loved ones and friends. We give presents to each other and our children. But do we stop to remember why we celebrate? Do we know why we give gifts to each other or why it started?
This year I will sit at home alone remembering so many years past when I had children at home to share the day with. Did I teach them what I should have taught them about this day? I think I did and hope they remember what it means. I hope we all remember what this time of year is all about not the commercialism but the true meaning.
Though I will be alone I will not forget. I will share my meager meal with my friends the feral cats and my NoNo and remember Christmases past.
May each of you have a wonderful Holiday season no matter what you may be celebrating. May it be peaceful and safe whether you stay at home of travel far.
