Update from the Front Lines: War on Chapter Pimps/Whores Slows

After a full day of fighting shoppers, traffic, and surviving a second office Christmas party, I have returned to Gather and am happy to report on these updates.

One... my point total has gone through the proverbial roof! Thank you friends; thank you chapter pimps/whores. I love it! This is the merriest Christmas ever! When I own Home Depot, I will not only have an edger, but also a leaf blower and mulching lawn mower.

Two... I have 99 connection requests. Okay, I know that some are from alters, but who cares? A Gather account is a Gather account.

Three... The Chapter Pimps/Whore Wars seem to have taken at least this Saturday afternoon off. My recent articles have not been pelleted by the shrapnel of drive by low ratings, such as been the case of the last 36 hours. Not that I care. Drive by ones and such still reap the benefits of Point One, which is more points.

I'm off to get some rest before waking at 4 a.m. to get my son from the airport. Good night all!

I have to say that I have gotten more emails today begging me to read stuff than ever. It wasn't from the chaptery thingy thing though. Just general people thinking that I actually read my Gather mail. I suppose I should in all fairness pull out my harassment group but it seems like work. And people actually like it.

I actually haven't been getting many requests to read lately. When I get one in my mail or comment threads, I go to the chapter, leave a comment that I deplore being solicited that way and to please not do it again in the future. Then I leave them a 1. I then either block the sender in my mailbox or delete their comment with my replacement comment saying why I deleted them. It's working rather nicely.

Woooie! Double the calories. I have two chocolate bars in my backpack. I think I'll save them and share them with my sweetie. That's because I love her. I love you too but I don't know how to share chocolate through my USB port. I'll think about you for part of the time I'm eating the chocolate.
