You pinpointed moments of musical blessing for me in this set of allusions. Above all the Requiem--what majesty in its melodies, ¨the lullaby of death.¨
John, I am so pleased to hear of your admiration for Faure. I believe his "Requiem" is one of the finest pieces in the classical repertoire. The Latin motets also offer singing, beguiling beauty which transcends the temporal and scales the celestial. Hours after hearing these pieces, I stand in awe of Faure's pristine composition and elemental grace.
Cristina and Curt, you both encourage me with your positive and gracious remarks.
Gerry, I am so honored that you would take the time to read this and offer favorable insight as a writer.
Kathryn, I am impressed that you know Faure's work and am so grateful for your favorable review.
Thank you, Wilma, for your very kind words! I have a large stack of photographs, some artwork and perhaps a dozen poems to post, but unfortunately I have been working on other projects at the moment.
There are some special posts from Mr. Bear and Mr. Meerkat coming up shortly, and you may be the one named in the dedication!
