I Love the Winter Weather--A Stroll through D.C.

Winter in the nation's capital.  What could be more delightful than enjoying the beauty of Washington in winter?  Crisp air, a touch of snow, and blue skies amid the backdrop of national treasures and historic monuments.

A cold night on the National Mall, but the joggers were out.

 

The snow is on the way...

 

 

Department of Agriculture on the National Mall.  A beauty in sepia and snow.

 

 

Jefferson Memorial under a snow-laden sky.

 

 

Washington Monument at night...

 

 

And the next day.

 

Cold and windy on the rooftops of DC.

 

The White House and the National Christmas Tree seen from the top of the Washington Monument.

 

The beauty is even more enjoyable when you have a warm home and good friends and family waiting at the end of the day.

I'm glad you've all enjoyed these. It was a beautiful trip--these were taken 2 weeks ago. I loved the feel of winter, but I'm definitely no snow bunny. A few days is enough for me to enjoy and then I want the warmer days again.
