ok, so i know this is a controversial topic, but i'm curious as to what everyone's opinions are.
personally, i'm am 100% against abortion. too many women who would love to have a child can't, and it is so wrong to murder a child when you could have given it to someone who wanted one. i believe that it is murder, and i believe that it is morally wrong.
how about everyone else?

Some women for different medical reason should not carry a baby to term because of risk of death to themselves .. they should be allowed to have abortions.
I think if the abortion is done very early .. it is not a bad thing. The first two months for example .. after that I do not think it right except in the issues I said above.
Too many people say they are against abortion and want to fight to ban it yet .. umm where are they when the babies are born and the mothers need help? I believe in the choice of the mother. We should all be able to have a say in what we do with our own bodies. .. no legal official or anyone else should be able to stop us ..
If men carried babies the veiws on abortion in the world would be a lot different! I am so sure!
PS .. this coming from someone who is pregnant right now!
Sometimes women opt for abortions because they want to give the baby up for adoption knowing the biological father would not be good for the baby BUT by law he has to agree to the adoption too ...
Some women would rather get the abortion then allow the child to be born and live in hell with the other parent.
i guess, the only time i would say an abortion might be okay, is if it's the kind where the woman takes the day-after pills or if it's done VERY early (like 6 wks).
Can't wait til the male birth control hits the streets!
i was raised extremely conservative (which could also be defined as "extremely sheltered")
i guess that might be an ok exception to the rule.
I have heard it said that abortion is a personal choice between a woman and her doctor. Not true. There is one more person involved - an innocent child to whom God has given a soul.
If we can defend abused children and fight for the freedom of people in other countries, we can and should defend preborn children whose lives are at stake.
Human life is sacred.
anyway i'm totally against it. imagine killin einsteins,mandelas,ghandis....
In my entire life, I have only heard one story that I accepted as a good reason for abortion. I know someone who was raped and got pregnant. Even though she was mature enough to physically get pregnant, her young body wasn't able to birth a child without a hgh risk of her losing her life, and she was also very unable to handle the emotional ramifictions of being pregnant at age 12.
However, I think that convenient abortions, abortions in cases of rape and incest, and that sort of thing are wrong. I'm sorry, even if I were raped, I would still carry the baby. At that point I may put it up for adoption, but there is no way I'd abort it.
And don't say that it's easy for me to just "say" that without being in the situation. Anyone who wants to respond that way, has NO idea...
Anyway, abortion is murder. It's wrong.
There are many children in orphanages that could be adopted and are not so I don't think there is a "shortage of children" for those who can't reproduce. There are many arguments and I am not saying one is more valid than the others, all are good points.
I just think that preserving our freedom to choose is essential. Late term abortion and just killing a child because it's inconvenient is not acceptable and we could restrict those types of abortions or require extensive counseling but who are we to decide what is best for EVERY woman in the country?
Our country was built on freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom to choose and so on.. I want to preserve my freedom so I am pro choice but I would not have an abortion.
It's about whether or not you want to allow each woman the freedom to choose what is right for her and her situation.
Many women abort for poor/ selfish reasons and it is not right or fair and yes we need to do something to prevent this but I don't think completely eliminating a persons right to choose is the answer. It's a convenient solution (like aborting a baby when it's inconveniently) but not necessarily the best answer.
Here is mine:
I'm pro-choice and will always be pro-choice. It's MY body and I know what situation I am in, so I should have the right to do what I NEED to do.
One night, my bf and I DID have a close call. The next day we seeked out the morning-after pill. It cost me a lot less to prevent the pregnancy than having the child I couldn't afford at the time.
