I used to struggle with landscapes. I stopped trying to paint a real looking tree years ago. Actually, I think I gave up painting anything "real looking" many many years ago. (I guess I have been more interested in painting things how I would like to paint them.) I guess that is how you end up with trees that look like this and bears that look like this. So, with that, how about a nature painting of a bear and a tree? You know, I said I used to struggle with landscapes. Personally, I think this is one of my best... Enjoy!

Viewing more of your work, Keemo . . . As you've probably determined, I really love your artistic creations. And, I would have to agree with you that this is one of your BEST, but keeping in mind that ALL of your creations are 1 of your best -- and there is no end.
When you have time to expound upon the materials (mediums/media) that you use in each artpiece, I'd really like to know, Keemo. Mixed-Media works are an area where you definitely excell. Did you use acrylic in 12.20?

Sorry for delay in replying. Things have been crazy. Thanks for the wonderful compliments. You made my day reading your thoughtful comments. In answer to your question(s) Rene, I have tried my hand at scuplture but have been mainly painting with watercolor and Ink. I find that painting with these mediums suits me and my creative process better. In line with the idea of art as therapy, for me all my work is truly about the process of creating it. (More than the finished product itself). You also mention the mixed media aspect. This has really grown out of desire to recycle materials that I have around. Whether it is a stack of magazines, old music books, postcards, wood, fabric, etc... That is not say that it is just randomly selected. Im fairly selective about what gets incorporated into the mixed media pieces. I try to use items that speak to me in some way or that I have some connection with. At the same time, Im not interested in creating a collage. I try (attempt) to have the background and foreground that relate to each other in someway. Like the belong together.
In regards, to content, the paintings are always portraits to some degree. Sometimes they are real people that I know or have ran into through out the day. Others may be called "emotional portraits." These are pieces that created simply to reflect the current mood or state of mind. Some people illustrate this through unrestrained color and movement, I tend to rely on color and maybe most importantly, line. I find that when I am working with the lines is when I am focused and most aware.
Thanks again for all the wonderful comments and insight. Im going to go read over the other comments on the others.
