Carol, why do you suggest Exxon? just curious..is it smart to buy it while gas prices are still high? I'm thinking those companies are priced higher right now due to the gas prices. When gas prices drop won't that affect gas company stock shares?
But, yeah, prices are going up, and wages are staying the same. Even in states where the minimum wage has been increased, employees who currently earn more than that amount aren't seeing any increase...
Prices are going up because transportation costs are going up. And yes, while prices skyrocket, wages are stangant. I'm netting more now per week than ever before in my work history, but I'm spending much more in gas just to get to work and back every week. While my wages have gone up by about 25%, fuel has nearly tripled (in my area, anyhow. Other areas are varied, of course), and it's costing me almost $50/week just to fill my tank.
I agree with Rick. How long with it be before we can't afford to eat because we have to buy gas to get to work and back?
I also noticed milk increased a lot. I just couldn't remember how much so I didn't list it.
