Tinsel the sound in sparkling eyes
Thinking of the reindeer ride
From the North Pole a Ho Ho Ho
As Santa climbs aboard and checks his roll
Are these little children good or bad
Oh I have no wish to make them sad
A very sweet brother and sister I see
Now where did I put their delivery
The mother looks at her children with a smile
And closes the book, remembers miles
Then softly, 'Santa won't stop if you're awake'
She tucks the youngest in, who says, 'Mama wait'
'Have I really been so bad?' 'No my angel, no.'
A peck on her cheek, a peck on her brother's forehead
The presents all sorted under the tree
And the lights glisten; ornaments play
Twirling her favorites round and round
Lost in the sounds of tinsel

I see a loving mother seeing decorations that she knows so well..and dreaming of happy times gone by.
Beautiful, Bill
This lovely poem is now a Feature in Wednesday Writing Essentials.
Wonderful little poem.
It's a magical time for little people!
'Have I really been so bad?' 'No my angel, no.'
God has given special heart to Moms...and your Mom is really wonderful...Moms are winners everywhere....so this is for your Mom..Congrats!!!
(when I was pregnant and was looking for names ..I was sure that it's a boy .decided this name Vatsalya...Vatsalya is a Sanskrit Word which means...motherly love....)
You've captured the magic of loving familiesand Christmas...all in a hypnotic 'sound' of tinsel.
i am a tinsel freak..the traditional silver icicles not that fuzzy garland crap.
it so takes one back to those good early Christmases, and so do your words strung together in a pleasing row....like the popcorn we strung in those bygone days.
Merry Christmas!!!!
of my childhood and Momma telling us kids to be

all not asleep! I loved this William. *smiles*
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
