It has been fun. Thank you to:

Tom, Firesmith, and LH: Thank you for putting up with all of my shennanigans, thank you for providing such informative analyses, answering everyone's questions, suffering through your insufferably poor picks (just kidding fellas) -- and all the rest that came with the 2007 Football Season. I sorta think we may have had a little fun, uh didn't we? I am going to do my "YouTube" thingy to express just how I feel about NFL Football 2007.
It was a party, like the parties I love, and so I am always going to be ready for your party,
and I shall always remember your names. 1.Click it.
Football. I love it, and whenever the three of you did your magic, here is what inevitably happened to me. 2.Nalita. (Truth be told, it was not Tom, Firesmith, or LH; it was the football players who really "did the magic"!).
Firesmith's approach to football is seemingly dispassionate passion, more black and white than Mike and Lawrence. I do not think I ever figured out who his favorite team really is, and he says he has no favorite team, but just loves the sport. How unique he is -- a stand-alone, stand-out kind of guy! But then, he turned around and did something that -- well -- surprised me. He actually came out from being the serious one, to having a wonderful sense of humour. Well, Firesmith, this one is for you: 3.Firesmith. The Scarecrow.

Lawrence, aaaah Lawrence. I call him the eternal optimist, and the dreamer of the impossible dreams. Against all odds -- at times -- he would go with the underdog, and he would be correct oftentimes. Lawrence is a lesson is what dreams can do -- come true. His reasoning -- like the other two -- is logic. Lawrence is a professional broadcaster, and cites the St. Louis Rams as his favorite team. The St. Louis Rams!??? Now, that's a FAN! I call Lawrence, "LH", and so LH, this one is for you and expresses your love for the game of football: Lawrence. The Lion.

Tom. d -- the Tin Man who definitely has a heart, because he has confiscated every woman's heart on Gather and therefore has plenty of hearts to spare. . .or not? Tom d. is waiting for a girl like YOU, (click here). Tom d. is the "King of Hearts" with the biggest one that I know of, for his Oakland Traitors. . .oops, I meant to say, beloved Oakland Raiders. Tom writes well, picks well, had a great sense of humour -- matter of fact, one of the best that I know. I love him for it. It is because of that sense of humour that I feel comfortable doing this to him. Tom d., here is my very special tribute to YOU!: 4.Tom d.! The Tin Man (Tom d., That is partially a joke. Here is the real one: 4a. Tom d.)

Football is a wonderful escape into a wonderful world. In this world of football, the conflict is organized, and penalties really do apply when the rules are broken. This makes football unlike the real world. Perhaps it is why I look so to this escape at the end of every Summer, and dread its coming to an end at the beginning of the New Year. For all of its scandals, foibles and duds, football IS the Wonderful World.
I dedicated this season to Coach Bill Walsh, who died earlier this year of cancer. I still have one more football article to do -- for him, about him, but that shall not be until next year. Tom d., Mike Firesmith, and Lawrence H. continue on in their wonderful world of sports -- maybe with basketball or basketball, I do not know; I sign off after football; it is my wonderful world: 5. Wonderful.
Sentimental, mood music is not really how we end football! Football does not end with a whisper; it ends with a SHOUT. HEY FANS!
SHOUT!
THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THE GROUP!
THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THE FUN!
DID IT REALLY MATTER WHO YOUR TEAM WAS? NO!!!
Well okay, okay -- put your guns down;
I was just kidding! So then, it does matter.
Okay, well then this one is for you and for your team, because football always begins and ends with the fans, and after all,
THERE'S NOTHING GREATER -- UH-UH -- THAN YOU AND ME!

I raise my glass to you guys...
It's ok there's always next year :)
What I love about you is that you are sooo supportive -- at least of my. You comment on nearly ALL of my articles, even on ones like this that are not particularly your cup of tea. . .I need to return in like manner -- what a Gather friend!
Certainly sounds to me like the makings of an excellent Quarterback. The left-handed mentality gives you the natural "full-picture" ability, along with the height, and the strong upper-body physique (pole vaulting, plus the disciplined diet and exercise). Too bad that you do not like sports in general, or football in particular, for I would love to engage in serious talk with you on football; unknown to many, I can speak seriously on the subject. I still like you the way you are! Thank you, as always, for your contribution to my articles! I always enjoy your presence.
Who the Hell Cares:
I have you both covered!
Details are forthcoming!
Is there any good news? Da Bears could have done worse, you know! They could have had a San Francisco, Miami or San Louis season. The other man's grass always seems greener. Da Bears did not finish last, Brian -- isn't that true?
You are right, there is always next year, and I regret the finish to the season for Da Bears as well.
:)
We ought to do something special for the playoffs. Maybe have a bracket pick like the final four or sumthing like that, maybe?
the only good thing about the end of year, is I get to see my good friend Rocky Bleier in our end of season meeting
"the never ending support of at least one terrible team"
Firesmith, could not that comment have been omitted, or could you not help yourself?
I do not know when, but somehow and in some way, I shall get you for that, Firesmith. I shall get you!
Jane: Thank you for the compliment. Another cat has passed on? I am sorry to hear it. How is your son? As far as Peyton Manning? He is "the Man" in the NFL, bar none!
Thank you, Jane!
and Penni! I do wish/have wished for the best for Tampa Bay. Knowing some of my family members either Reno, Tahoe, or Vegas shall be in the "cards" sometime immediately after we get the children squared away with Christmas, so send me some $$$$ and I shall be happy to do your bidding. Thank you, too my friend!
every year at Christmas she orders special cards with his pic on them. Transplanted from Denver to Illinois, I will give Da Bears my attention.
Listen, donna! Many people I know do not know much about the specifics of the game, but find something within football to enjoy, even if it's the style of jersey; yes donna, I am serious about that!
I am humbled to just read through it and click on the links to some of my personal favorite songs of all time.
Thank you for Mick - the incomparable Mick
Ray Charles, my personal favorite of all time when it comes to talent
Joe Cocker who is not only a great performer but has one of my personal favorite NAMES of all time -what better to be than a COCKER!!
AND, how could you possible KNOW that when I was really on the pussy trail (sorry if this gets you flagged ) my FAVORITE band was FOREIGNER!! URGENT and WAITING FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU were my best lyrics when quoting songs to an attractive, hungry, young woman.
If you are unaware, dear reader, of the lyrics to WAITING FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU - then go and check them out - got me laid many times!!
Thank you Lady N - the incomparable one!
Truly a work of art.
Thank You Again.
Wow, I'm so touched.
Do not EVEN talk to me!
You abandoned me.
You left me!
You left me to my own devices!
What did you expect me to do without you, mmmm?
I got depressed!
Where were you?
As far as I am concerned, the season IS over.
You were not here with which to celebrate Packers' victories.
So, what was I to do, mmmm?
Twittle my thumbs and ogle my watch, mmmm?
Jeff, where have you been?
JEFF, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, MMMMM?
You certainly know how to deliver a thank you!
You make all the effort worthwhile!
It feels good when your gestures are appreciated, and I can easily see how much you appreciate it, however,
there is more to come my little babooska!
(throw in a little Russian there, and maybe Tom Hunter shall correct it for me. ;=) ----->)
has been added to your tribute, and it was my pleasure.
As I said earlier, appreciation goes a long way, TD!
AHEM! So you scored many touchdowns, eh!
By the way, LH, how is CAL Merced coming along?
(tee hee hee!)
Local elementary students chose the Golden Bobcat as UC Merced's mascot. Today, a real live bobcat is part of UC Merced.
A four-month-old cub was anonymously dumped at Merced's Applegate Zoo a few years ago, where zoo workers found him stuffed in a trash bag, covered in mites and fleas and suffering from several other health problems.
Dr. Christine McFadden, the zoo's official vet, cooperated with dedicated zookeeper Donna McDowell over many hours nursing the cub back to health. He is now as playful, rambunctious, curious and clownish as any domestic kitten, but this kitty does not belong in your kitchen with a saucer of milk! Bobcats, even when raised in captivity, are notoriously aggressive and untamable. The California Department of Fish and Game, however, has determined that this particular feline should not be released back into the wild because of his early difficulties, which could cause him to need further veterinary care in the future.
In honor of the opening of UC Merced and in cooperation with Applegate Zoo, UC Merced announces a campaign to care for this cub. The zoo has agreed to allow UC Merced students to name the cub. Funds raised will go directly to the zoo to help build a new, naturalistic enclosure for the cub, where university personnel and others from the community can visit him. Any additional funds will go towards the cat's care and feeding for the next several years.
I'm no longer waiting, Neeetah!
Thank you for being that girl.
Oh, the memories. The touchdowns...
The scores!
Ooops - sorry Lady N - that WAS YOUR school. I was there a few weeks ago and the babes are not bad - but YOU were not there so it was not my scene.
Waiting ...
Deep into the Night...
What about my PATS? That logo looks smaller than the rest! You do NOT want to piss off the PATS!
Thank you, LH!
We actually started off to Yosemite last night (pipe dream), but prior commitments. . .
