Um, I can't help you because I know squat. I just upload my video from my camera and then onto Gather. Hope you find the answer you are looking for.

Do you have Windows Movie Maker? Import the video into there and save it as a movie file, then you'll be able to post it.

I have no idea, I'm lucky enough to be able to upload to my computer from my digital camera and download to Gather. I hope someone has the answer you're looking for!

I can't help either Deeanna. I have dial up and I tried to put a video on gather. It worked at it for an hour & 20 minutes before it said it couldn't go through. I have no idea why.

.avi, .mpg, .mpeg, .mov, .wmv and .asf are the formats Gather supports. What applications do you have on your computer that make/play movies besides Quicktime? Some of them might be able to re-save in a compatible format.

I have no help for you here Deeanna, have just learned how to do pictures and still have trouble with them, hope someday to do a video, my didgital camera does have that feature, but I don't know what to shoot, heaven help everyone if I ever figure it out, lol

I suggest you talk to a Gather Guide. You can also go up to the top of this page and click on "help." Then on the left column click on dowloading video content. There should be some hints there that might help you.

I use Windows Movie Maker. If you can get your video into that format, then the wmv. file it is saved to will upload very easily. Remember, though, there are two steps in saving a video on your computer.

1. the project file that lets you edit your video ( you cannot upload a project file )

2. You must save your project file to your computer as a finished video. This file can be uploaded to Gather.

What is the type of file it is saved as? Try sending it to your email on your computer or if you have a usb cord try that. If you get the type of file it is and if its not one of the formats send me a message I possible have a site that can help you convert it.

Debra's on the right track, here. Gather does not currently support QuickTime format, unfortunately. Before uploading a video that is in such a format, you would need to convert it into one of the following acceptable video formats - avi, mpg, mpeg, mov, wmv, or asf.

Here is a link to a freeware .3g2 to .avi converter. There are also a number of inexpensive ones if you are going to do this often and want more editing capabilities.
