I've been trying to clean out the clutter in my house, and that includes boxes of "stuff" that have been sitting in storage or the closet for the better part of two decades. At the back of a storage closet, I discovered two boxes of Christmas ornaments that I aquired mostly in Germany. The glue on some of them had deteriorated, and there was a horrifying pile of severed limbs and abandoned shoes at the bottom of the box. I've tried to reunite the ornaments with their appropriate severed limbs. I'm going to sort them out and find them new homes.
Here's a few of the items:

A little red bicycle. It has rotating wheels and a kickstand.
These Jack-in-the-Box ornaments have a real Jack-in-the-Box - sort of. Remove the pin and up pops a .. balding old man in a sweater.

A Doctor and Nurse. I don't know why the Doctor is wearing a mortar board. Maybe he just graduated from Medical School?

A Chimney Sweep with his ladder and cleaning tools. The cleaning lady with her broom. I have no idea why she is holding a bird. The bird looks a bit confused about it, too.

Three little fireplaces with wreaths and presents. Nice gifts, but for some reason, there appears to be a mouse on top of the one on the right. Maybe that box has cookies in it!

Miniature toys, including a Stick Horse. Anyone remember those?

What goes better with Christmas stockings than running shoes? These even have a nice tread pattern on the bottom. I don't remember where these came from, but probably Herzogenaurach, Germany - the home of Adidas and Puma.

All tucked into bed for the night. The one in the middle is half of a walnut shell.

Woodsmen. They are ready to go hunting with a gun over one shoulder and a dog under the arm. I don't know why they don't just let the dogs walk.

This lady has her purse and her knitting. The cabinet on the left has rolls of cloth and skeins of yarn. The basket has clothes, some clothespins, and a noose. Maybe all of that industrious knitting and sewing can lead to suicidal thoughts.

While the lady does all that housework, the men are all down at the Beer Hall having a few mugs of HofBrau. A couple of them decided to bring something a bit stronger.

It's all about perception. Maybe you see Santa writing out his list of good boys and girls. I see an old fashioned teacher's desk complete with bookcase, manned by a club-weilding Santa Claus. An eccentric but effective educational tool?

Among the detached limbs, I found a forlorn looking dog. He looks like one of the dogs that belong with the Woodsmen, but I couldn't find one missing a dog!

I just gave him to this guy. He seems to like dogs. Or maybe those white ones are sheep. In that case, he still needs a sheep dog.

Is that a bottle of Kirsch? Nothing like product placement on your tree ornaments! :D
Neat collection, Ada...thanks for sharing it with us!
That is, indeed, a bottle of Schwartzwald Kirschwasser. It even has a little label at the bottom that says 40%/Vol. and a picture of cherries on the side. I'm really more worried about the guy on the right. His little brown bottle doesn't have a label, but he has a knowing smile on his face.
VERY COOL!
