A third movie version of Richard Matheson's classic sci-fi novel "I Am Legend"
Robert Neville (Will Smith) is possibly the last survivor of a virus (that was actually created by man to cure cancer). Neville is immune to this virus, so he has survived, along with his dog, Sam. I think that a very interesting part of the movie is how he interacts with his dog. It would be very difficult to understand how a person would behave after three years of only having his dog to talk to.
There are a few humorous parts to an otherwise very intense movie, such as watching Neville talk to mannequins. Neville is not alone, there are mutated humans who have been infected with the virus, they can only come out at night and are extremely violent creatures. He spends his day roaming a deserted New York City with his dog and his evenings trying to find a cure for the virus.
I am not much for sci-fi movies. In my opinion this movie was well done, without too many graphics, it truly brings you into the movie and you feel like this could be tomorrow in NYC. Very realistic.
I don't want to give the movie away... so this is all I will say for now.
It is an intense movie. Not for smaller children. My son is 13 and he enjoyed it.

With Vincent Price starring as the Doctor... made years before night of the living dead it scared hell out of me and I HAD read Mathieson's book.
Thanks for the review!
The Charleston Heston version (Omega Man) was groovy 70s fun

Great review.
Thanks for the review.
My husband and I can't wait to get a chance to see this one!
I wondered about Will Smith in this part. After reading your article I can't wait to see this talented actor.
I'm a sci-fi junkie and noticed a couple of loose ends that I would have liked answered. All-in-all there was NOT a dull moment in this movie and Will Smith was excellent!
I am behind in comments, but I wanted to let you know I stopped by to view your content and thank you for posting to I was bored :)
