Hello my Gather Friends!   Just drop on by and let me know how your day is going!

Last night we got dumped with a LOT of snow and before it is all over today we should have between 10-14 inches!  The winds are supposed to pick up to between 20-30 MPH, so there will be major drifting.  They are saying up to 2 ft.  I think I'll stay indoors today!!!  Ew!  I do have to feed my outdoor strays though, sometime today.  I haven't seen anything of them yet this morning so they must be holed up in my shed I keep open a crack to give them shelter from the weather!

Anyway, have a great "Gather" day my friends, from the (Wintery) Middle of the Mitten, Michigan!!

I woke up at the crack of dawn today, errrrr before the crack of dawn! Temp is 21F here in Arkansas....brrrrrrrrr, plus we even received 1/2" of snow yesterday.

Well out here in Cali I just haven't made it to bed yet.

I had some things I wanted to get posted on here. One being my Gaterversary was yesterday, so I am a bit late with it but just had to let everyone know how meaningful gather has been to me. If you get the chance stop by and read it.

It's a little cool here but no snow; though we are suppose to get some rain.

Good morning, Deb! We have about 14 inches of snow here at Skidway Lake, too. Last night brought us about 6-7 inches to top off the 8 we had on the ground already.
Winter storm watch today with blizzards, poor visibility and hazardous driving. We, too, will be staying in today...unless we go sledding. Our hill is excellent as it slopes right down to the frozen lake. We really fly down and out across the ice! Walking back up is quite a challenge, though.

Nice article wiaka and Lynn, that's cold for ARK! I know because I lived there for several years before coming back here to MI where I grew up! I have to bundle up and go out and clear off the porch so I can feed my stray cats!! Poor things, out in this blustery weather!!! I'll be offline for a short while to do this. Wow, it's just getting light here and it is definately a "Winter Wonderland" and the snow is not expected to stop until this evening!!!

Jan, we have a big hill here too that my 9 yr old daughter loves to slide down. She just got over being sick though, so I better keep her in today!! It's only 24 degrees out too.

Snow? I love snow. I lived in the desert for two years, No thanks. I'm in Montana right now and I bet we got snow before you did. a foot about a month or more ago. I grew up in the heartland midwest where the snow melted before the next one came in, then I lived in Vermont for a while where the snow doesn't melt until the spring thaw. All of that beats the heat of the desert where it is just too hot to even think about breathing. Hope you have a beautiful day.

We're really getting a lot more snow than usual this winter. The lake froze early and the ice fishermen and snowmobilers are ecstatic. It's only about 24 here, too, but we'll have wind which makes it much c-c-colder!

DEb you can come to my house in Davison and get the snow out of my yard anytime. They say no two snow flakes are alike. How do they know, who looked at them all? here is a neat site, see if you can make the same snowflake. It is a lot of fun.

Jan, the most we had before today was about 4 inches back a couple weeks ago! Good morning Danielle & Rosa....Brrrrrrrrrrrrr...it's cold out there. I've gotta' warm back up and do a better job here in a little bit to clear my porches off better!! Yes indeed, it's going to be a White Christmas here this year for sure!

I feel hurt, I think we only got around 4 inch's and the wind is starting to pick up, My hope is it blowers it all away because my snowblower is down waiting parts soooooo I guess I will just stay in and watch the Lions get beat again LOL....

My Dad will probably be out later after it all stops to plow with a tractor!! It's beyond the "snow blower" stage!! My poor kitties barely know how to walk in this snow!!

Our plow guy has bronchitis, so we'll be shoveling and/or trying to snowblow. With wind and drifting, it could be a losing battle. Sledding sounds like more fun anyway!

We're on Skidway Lake, just east of West Branch, MI. Our snow came early and never left. Now its friends are all piling on, too.

I live in a subdivison, people with snow machine will be out before long, They think they own the road. Expect me to move for them, don't think so.

Hi, Deb. I couldn't sleep so got up to check in with Gather. We only have about 4 inches out here in eastern Washington - at least where I am. I know the folks in the mountains got more from the storm Friday night. I think we have a little forecast throughout the week but I haven't heard of anything major.

I'm hoping we don't have any more big storms for a couple weeks as I am heading over to the coast the day after Christmas to see my granddaughter over there. I had a horrible drive after Thanksgiving and have no desire to repeat that.

Morning Deb, we got snow here yesterday and evening too, then it warmed up so we got rain on top. Now we are going to have a winter weather advisory as well as a wind advisory all day today. They said winds may hit 50mph. Sounds like fun.

Yes Pam, we are still under a winter storm advisory too, but we already have about a foot of snow with two foot drifts and the wind is supposed to pick up also, more than it is blowing already!!!

I know today we are to have blowing and drifting snow and all of that good stuff. I was kind of hoping we would get more yesterday and the rain would not come but no such luck. My six year old loves to play in it.

Out here on the left coast, there's a rumour about rain next week. It was cold enough out yesterday I had to wear a jacket. :)

I'm going to pick up a few stocking stuffer items and its a wrap.

I played a last minute gig yesterday. A Christmas party for a mental health drop in clinic's clientele. A lot of street people and people who hear voices and stuff. Great folks!

A band I know was scheduled to play; their guitarist was suddenly hospitalized. They asked if I could sub the night before. A rehearsal would have been nice but I improvised my way out of trouble. It was fun and I got a turkey dinner out of it!

I have found that this office/bedroom is the warmest early in the morning. But that is usually when the puter hangs up so bad. The glass room is so cold, I can not stand to go out there. Have to use it to climatize the rest of the house. Open the kitchen to it, when it gets to hot in there, shut the door when I need more heat in the dining room. Such a great thing I guess, To be able to open and shut doors to get what you need.

Thanks for all the comments ya'all!! I have been dozing on & off this afternoon! This weather must be making me sleepy!! I did only get 4-5 hours sleep last night. I guess I was too excited to go back to sleep when I woke up because I wanted to see how much snow we had gotten dumped on us through the night!!!

We're also getting a lot of that 4-letter stuff falling. I hope the wind shifts and sends it all to the middle of the thumb so you can go outside and play with your snow shovel. Have fun.

We had frost on the ground this morning. I think it was supposed to get down to around 28 last night in my neck of the woods. The sun is shining now and the house is warming up very nicely. I havent been outside. Not that brave yet. Donald fed the animals before he left this morning.

Good night everyone! I will really try to do some "ketchuping" tomorrow!! Pleassssse be patient with me! I'm going through a real "strange emotional" time right now. Maybe it's because of the holidays and I know my oldest and his little family have already come and gone for the Christmas Holiday! Oh how I wish my whole little family could all be together for Christmas...but I must be grateful for what I "do have"! And also I am very thankful indeed for all the new Gather friends I have made through this past year of 2007!!! Thanks everyone!! Love ya'all!!

Hi, Deb. I love that little flea graphic you posted on my article!! Pretty funny.

Our snow is all melting here. It's up to 40!! Hasn't been that warm in weeks. The snow is quickly disappearing and the white Christmas the weatherman had been assuring us we would have, is now in question.

My grandkids are really perturbed that the snow is leaving. They had gone sledding 3 times over the weekend and had a great time. Liam just loved it this year and he hadn't liked it last year at all.

I am trying to get back into an exercise program. Liam and I went to the YMCA today. I told him he has to make me go every day!! He loves playing in the day care there, so he is happy to oblige. Now if he could only drive the car to get me there!!

I sure do wish we could just get a little snow but I live in Texas so I doubt that it will happen even though snow is forecasted for Saturday, just want one white christmas, lol! No Norma Dear!!! You could never stalk me!! Silly!! Thanks Norma and Wilma for telling Chloe Happy Birthday!! I have just been really busy and now have another birthday party to go to tomorrow for my cousin,aunt,Mom and Chloe all together. That makes 3 parties for Chloe this year!! I promise I'll post a new GabFest asap..just been sooooo....busy these last few days! School is out now for almost 2 weeks! So at least I won't "have" to get up so early if I don't want to!! :o)
