We have a mantle in our house that has been designated as the spot for Christmas decorations. This is necessary as we live with cats and dogs that are not always respectful of the sentimental value attached to these items. So here are a few things that take up residence there every year around this time.
The newest resident is this browsing deer that came this year as an unexpected gift from a dear friend.
Our snowshoe Santa bear came all the way from New Hampshire. He seems quite at home here in Arkansas.
St Nick - this statue reminds me of my mother's childhood tales about Christmas in Holland.
Deb and I both like to kayak and so this is a gift I gave to her on our first Christmas. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Santa that kayaks? Thankfully, Lenox decided that they needed to create one and here it is.
I did try to photograph some of the ornaments on our lovely, fake 3' tree but couldn't get them to come out clearly. So there you go, a little tour of our Christmas mantle. Now I think I'll break out the egg nog.
