I watched as a couple came in and sat down in the next booth with a young boy. He was around 4 or 5 years old. The wife sat on one side with the husband it looked like he helped her to lean into him some for support. The boy sat across the table.
I could hear the father talk to the son. When the waiter came he ordered for everyone. The wife looked aroung the room. She didn't talk and I could see her mouth droop a little. She would smile at her son but she said nothing. Her eyes said it all to me. She was happy to be out and she liked being in the restaurant. She looked sad though, it looked like she was wishing things were different for her.
She looked like a nice lady in her thirties. I wondered what had happened to her. Was she in an accident, did she have a stroke or did she have a muscular disease? I didn't see a wheelchair.
When their food arrived the young boy was happy and the father grinned as the waiter talked a lot to the boy. He leaned into his wife and said something. Then I saw him lift a fork of food to her mouth.
What true love he had for her.
After our dinner was over I got up and walked over to their table. I said, "I am very impressed with your son. He is handsome and so well behaved. I am very impressed."
The mother beamed with pride. The father mentioned they ate there several times a week. I said, "I guess you are saying he is so well behaved because he is used to it here." The father smiled and I left.
There are so many things I wanted to say, but this was all I thought I could say. I will hold this woman in my prayers in hope that what ever is going on with her that she will recover. I am in awestruck of this family and the true love I saw tonight!

I'm glad you stopped by to say something to this family. May we all do something special like this from time to time.
