Last week one of my mothers in my morning kindergarten class called and asked if she could come in and do a craft with my children. I love sharing my classroom with parents. I think having a strong bond between teachers and parents is important. For were not they their child's first teacher? Lena mentioned on the phone that they would be making candleholders. I was pleased... the celebration of light during this time of the year is universal. Yesterday morn, I explained to the children that Julia's Mom would be coming in and that they were going to be making a present...a present for someone they held dear. I had their attention and when Lena arrived with her bags filled with jars, tissue paper squares, glue and glitter, they were excited.

Gifts from the heart
Small hands will create
with colored tissue paper
and a dabble of glue
then a sprinkling of glitter
to make it sparkle.

AND, I've decided I want a yellow table top to play on...!
Thank you, from the heart, for sharing.

Thanks for sharing, Bob.
I'll write it as soon as my article about the yodeling pickle is done getting comments.
I am sure they loved this activity. They will remember these classes for a long time and their parents will cherish the new things made by the little hands of their children!
Thanks J Wright for stopping by.
Deb, this is another activity you can do with your grandbaby!
I could see the lights in their eyes. They were showing real happiness.
I wonder sometimes what can match the happiness of a child. On Tuesdays, for 3 hours, I look after the neighbourhood's children.
I love every minute of it...and your photos show why.
