The Snow is Snowing,

You know about the Weatherman

 

You usually can't believe anything they say

 

Well looking out my window

 

They sure were right about today

 

 

There is that white stuff out there

 

the kind that is nice to look at while it's falling

 

But to me it is a mess and confining

 

So now, for Spring I'm calling

 

 

Of course then I will have to contend with

 

Summer getting here again

 

and then the darn heat and humidity

 

and money on ac I will spend

 

 

I guess I can't be satisfied

 

Can I just shut my eyes

 

and be a Rip Van Winkle type

 

and skip the slips and slides

 

 

Well maybe its' not in the cards for me

 

to be the one that nature's pleasing

 

so I guess I will have to relax a bit, stay in,

 

Sit back and enjoy this wintry season

We're sposed to get snow here in NW Arkansas Friday night. Panic! But not for me, my ol MN roots are tough, I'll be ready, snow scoop in hand. BTW, they are predicting a whole 2"! But, with all the hills and hollars in these parts, plus the fact the county only owns two snowplows and drivers not used to drivin' on ice....errrrrrrr.......I think I'll be stayin' inside.

Hey Elsie, here you go again!! Words that rhyme just
flow from your pen, this seems to be happening again,
and again! Speaking of snow it has been falling here
all the day long, makes me want to go out door to door
and sing Christmas songs! Oh my Elsie we do have from
6 to 8 inches already it still keeps falling! I worry about
my family having to drive in this mess. Great poem Elsie!

Elsie, I tend to feel the same about snow. It's beautiful, but..

Lynn, I read your comment and I didn't know we are expecting snow. Complicates my life a bit. The horses will need extra hay..

Hope you don't get TOO much snow. We only have about an inch that has remained on the ground. It has just been too cold for that to ever melt. Don't know when we are getting any more. I would like just a little snow for Christmas and then it can all just go away!

Well we can't change it anyway so we might as well just accept it.

A delightful look at a 4-letter word. Most of this poem has a nice flow, but there are a few rough spots. Maybe you slipped on the ice. I would suggest you read this aloud to see what I mean, unless, of course, you'd rather have fun with your snow shovel.

I used to love winter and the snow and cold...back in my younger days. Now that I've gotten older, I can live without it except around Christmas. But life goes on and we can complain, but there's not a thing we can do about the weather...take what we get. I'm pretty sure you go the snow before we did with our current storm. It moved up from Pennsylvania and didn't start here until around 9AM. We're expecting up to half a foot or more by morning...and already have 4 inches or so...on top of what was already one the ground from before. At least this one wasn't lake effect off Ontario and dump a couple feet on us. I think we're going to have a white Christmas this year.

That was very cute Elsie. Its snowing here too. I usually love the snow but I had to shovel today so I am not liking it very much today. I heard another storm might be coming on Saturday, a noreaster, those can be bad. Our snow removal system is going to his mothers for the weekend so I guess I will be shoveling some more. LOL

Here I am wishing for snow, but I only like it for a couple of days. We rarely get it here; in fact last Easter it snowed all weekend. On Easter, of all days! Lovely poem, Elsie. Happy Holidays to you!

Just checking in...leaving Saturday morning, but now the weatherman is calling for a snow event after midnight on Friday. I hate being on the roads in bad weather, so I'm getting everything ready in case I convince my hubby to leave after work tomorrow. I think if we get as far south as Nashville, we will just get rain. I hope the weatherman is wrong! I'll have the computer with me...but, most times I'm too tired to use it, my daughter keeps me running!

I remember when snow inspired me to rush outside to play in it, or ski or just watch it come down. Now on several occasions each year I can still watch it come down like a blizzard in North Dakota, but here in the mountains east of San Dieg the ground doesn't freeze and snow doesn't last more than a few hours.
We have another storm coming next week so stock up for more bad weather heading your way.

I enjoyed your poem and got a giggle from it. I sure wouldn't want to be locked up in the house because of it. We don't normally have to worry about that until January. Hope it doesn't cause you too much trouble. Must admit though, that I would love to see it snow. A Christmas Eve snow would be wonderful to me. Streets cleared Christmas morning though of course.

I loved your poem, I guess with the weather, we just have to learn to take what we are delt. Just like everything else in life. At least the things in life can be changed if we try hard enough. But we can never control Mother Nature.
