The holidays are great and we are all in the giving mood. We give gifts to family and friends and often times we give to the ones who have nothing. I always wonder what happens when the giving is done. No more red kettles at Walmart, no more free holiday meals.
Being in the position of being poor as a child, I wrote this little article on my blog to make people aware that giving should not stop when the holidays are over.
What do I do when the holidays are over?
Please let me know what you think . Also feel free to comment on here or there about you own stories of charity.

As for many other "charity" collections that sprout during this season I am quite wary. Many so called charities are extremely top-heavy with outrageous salaries to executives and business expenses, which dilutes the actual "charity" of these organizations to very little. Many charities are dispersing less than 20% of receipts to the parties they claim to help.
Charitable giving should not be confined to only the winter holiday season, needs go on unfettered throughout the year. Give what you can when you can. Know the organization, their reputation, and their effectiveness that you are giving too. Many organizations need donations other than money, such as time, labor, skills and talents, in other words they need you, not just your money.
