My Kroger deal

I think my minions must be going through a growth spurt. They go through cereal like they're never going to eat again. Over the past 2 weeks, we've gone through roughly 8 boxes of cereal- and that's just for breakfast!

Tomorrow's payday, but wouldn't you know it, we're out of cereal today. Gilly ended up staying home from school. I think she's maybe coming down with something- she went back to sleep after breakfast and didn't wake up until almost noon. I figure if she's sleeping that much, her body needs it, so I just kept her home.

Well, me and her bundled up (which was mostly unneccesary, it was WARM!), and we went to the bank. Still no bonus check (which was expected last week), and pay day is tomorrow, but either way, I grabbed what little money we had left (which was more than enough since we get paid tomorrow).

I didn't look through my coupons, because frankly, I didn't sleep last night (ok, I did- I fell asleep at 5:30, and got up at 7- I took a nap, basically), and my head hurt, and I just didn't, ok? :p

While waiting at the bank, I remembered that Kroger has a deal- buy 4 boxes of cereal, get up to 2 gallons of milk and/or orange juice for $.50 each! And they had good cereal on sale 4/$10.

Rather than take the time to see if it was ANY 4 boxes of cereal, or just the sale stuff, I grabbed the sale stuff (which was still more than the generic, but hey, I like my Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Reeses cereals!). We grabbed 1 box of Lucky Charms, 2 boxes of Reeses, and 1 box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Then we snagged the milk & OJ gallons. Out the door, I paid $11 for 4 boxes of cereal, a gallon of OJ, and a gallon of Milk. And, the Reeses boxes both have a coupon on them for a free bag of Chocolate Turtle Chex Mix, so on a future visit, I'll get 2 more things for that orignal $11.

Now, if only I had had some coupons with me...

Ok, I'm heading off to lay down for a bit. Maybe I won't pass out if I actually lay down first. ;)
