Most stores are empty of cold food such as meat, diary, and frozen foods. As we emerged from our homes to get food, we were shocked to realize the stores had lost their food as well. I did find one store with cold food, but I passed on buying. Why would that store have cold food and not the others.
People are dying from car accidents but also carbon monoxice from generators.
The trees are blocking roads. Icicles are huge and dangerous. Over six million people are without electricity. School are still closed. Traffic lights are not working.
I went outside yesterday, and knocked the ice off my trees and chopped off the icicles over the doorways.
Today, we have snow flurries and a little drizzle that will freeze in the morning. Friday, we start again but it will be 2-6 inches of snow. No end in sight.
I've lived here in Oklahoma for 30 years and never have seen anything like this. Snow in December is something we prayed for with little or no hope. Okay, thanks but no thanks.
If you're worried about my dog, Rhett, we added bedding. We put a crib mattress in his room and put his teddy bear rug on top of it. He has his own room in our house. It's decorated in teddy bears. : } I figured with all the doom and gloom, we could use a smile.

Our prayers are with you all out that way. We are suppose to get it this weekend.
Hang in there.
what a shame... God bless you and your family.... glad doggy is ok...
hang in there... love
we were with out electric for two weeks in 2004 due to a major ice storm, when you go for a walk in our forests you still see damage that the storm caused
we saved some of our frozen food by having big plastic storage containers took it out of the fridge and stored it outside. we survived by having a kerosine heater and stove to cook on (being a girl scout leader payed off since we had those things to use on camping trips.
be careful with your computer if a powerline pops it will blow your monitor even if you have a circuit breaker cord, I lost mine in 2004 good thing it was insured. Ice storms are the worst part of winter
We were going to get hit with this storm but it avoided us. Now we might experience it when we go east Friday to be with my family. Today they already have the freezing rain advisory out.
We are a bit concerned how travel will go... only time will tell.
Hugs, Zissy
I hope you are able to find food to buy when you need it.
It sounds like you are taking good care of Rhett, keeping him as warm as possible.
Hang in there. I hope it ends soon.
