Babies and pajamas

My grand daughter loves to sleep in just her diaper, my daughter use to be the same way. The reason I am bringing this up is because my daughter is in Oklahoma and had to leave her apartment in kind of a hurry because of the ice storms and she lost power, anyway, in her rush she forgot to pack my grand daughter some pajamas.  Now she is being told that she is a bad mother because she didn't bring bed clothes for my grand daughter.  Does anyone see anything wrong with a baby sleeping in their clothes? I don't see why she needs to sleep in pajamas.  We don't change them into pajamas when we put them down for a nap so why does it make a difference what they sleep in for the night as long as they are warm.

Am I wrong in my thinking??

Sleeping in pajamas I see nothing wrong with. But what they are probable thinking if I understand right and please forgive me if I am. Did she leave the house with her still in her diaper only? If it was cold out that is what they are probable talking about. I don't know though. There are times James sleeps in sweats, tshirts, summer he sleeps in diaper.

No, she had her dressed and took clothes for her, but in her haste she forgot pajamas. And someone made the comment that she is a bad mother because she doesn't put her in pajamas to sleep.

Thank you so much for commenting on this...I just don't understand why these people pick on her all the time..my daughter is a great mother, she puts that baby first above everything.

People are ignorat to judge your daughter by what the baby is wearing. Good parenting does not depend on PJ's. That's just plain ridiculous.

My kids often fell asleep before they could put their pajamas on. They would sleep in their clothes. There isn't a written law that states anyone has to have pajamas on when the sleep.

First who would be telling her that. I would let them know that under the circumstance that she would appreciate it if they were that worried if they would not mind going to purchase the baby pj's. If that did not work, I would point blank tell them to mind their own business.

Thank you Sarina that's what I told my daughter. She can sleep with her clothes on, it's not a big deal as long as she is warm.

Thank you Betty. I don't want to mention who it was that told her this, but I told my daughter basically to let what they said go in one ear and out the other.

A good Mother takes care of her child as she pleases,,, as long as she keeps her warm and fed,,, I'm sure your daughter is a good Mother,,, Bless her and the little one,,,

Our kids slept in their clothes lots of times if they fell asleep before they got pajamas on. It didn't hurt them any. We sure weren't going to wake them to put on pjs and they were light sleepers and couldn't be changed while asleep.

As long as their little arms and legs are covered I can't imagine why bed clothes should be any different from real clothes as long as they are clean.

I can't even dress my 5 yr old he does it himself and I'm lucky if they are on right most of the time they are backwards

oh no... it does not matter what the child sleeps in, as long as they are warm and dry... my son used to sleep in whatever was available and if he was asleep before i got him to bed, that's what he wore to bed... this is such a silly thing for anyone to say to your daughter... really... God bless your family...

Crystal thank you...lol..thats cute..my grand daughter is 14 months old and just plain ole doesn't like clothes...LOL

Thank you necee..I thought the same thing..I think they just all have cabin fever cause they have all been in the house for a few days now because of the weather, and just needed something to argue about. :)

I don't think it matters as long as the child has something to wear, whether they're pajamas or not.

If that's the case, I am a horrible mother. My son often sleeps in his t-shirt. I'm not going to wake him if he is sleeping to change him into something called PJ's. A lot of times, he will take off his PJ's and sleep in his diaper. I'm not going to force him to wear something as long as he is warm and comfortable.

It doesn't if a child sleeps in clothes or pj's. It also doesn't matter if a child sleeps in a diaper. Just as long as the child stays warm. Frazzled mothers are bound to forget something when they are in a hurry. What mother hasn't? I know I have.
