Giving 10's to everyone I know.
Having fun is what it's about
and sharing comments without a doubt.
10's and comments I bring
spreading holiday cheer.
I wish I had time to Gather
every single day of the year.
I'm off to give more comments
and I'll be back as soon as I can.
I enjoy every single moment
and I'm one of your BIGGEST fans!
Wince or Smile? from Talking Jesus Figures to Christmas Toilet Paper, Retailers Hit All the Bases at Christmas
Also:
Tried to list my General Content page for comments and opinions. Didn't work, just the one article above. But you can click on my name there to see the rest .
I'm surrounded! I got a drop-by goalpost response too ;)
Writer's block tends to settle around my shoulder blades. So when you drop by, if you could just nudge that spot right under the left shoulder blade...
;)
The talking Jesus made me think of the teacher who gave the go ahead to name a teddy bear Mohammed. When I had heard THAT story I wondered how tolerant we would be if Jesus was marketed or rendered diminutively. Now we know. Different world, different rules.
Is the AC site lucrative for you?
I had seen earlier this year and considered it.
It depends on what you consider lucrative. It is one area where I get published, put stuff on Digg and other spaces and so it segues into other avenues for me. Within my first month there, I made nearly $300. I'll have to pay taxes on whatever I make but my viewership is growing. Then you get monthly bonuses based on those. That has grown quickly.
It is one form of revenue, not a sole source by any means. You get paid by number of views, basically. The trick? Finding the right keywords. For example, I wrote an article about that staph bacteria that made tne news. It has gotten the same nuimber of views (plenty) as a product review on men's deodorant. Why? It has to do with SEO or Search Engine Optimization, something I haven't mastered. But it is intriguing.
Anyway, It certainly helps. Plus, when I wrote product reviews, some companies send me coupons for free food. Not that we needed it but it was better than a kick in the pants. Plus, free is free.
However, it is a very small part of our income. It pays for my son's math tutoring and other stuff. I did better by scoring two Kindle bookreaders before they sold out. One I'm keeping, the other will sell for nearly as much as the first one (or more) on auction. WHY people want to pay this NOW and not wait is beyond me!
I did one on movies for dysfunctional families, too.
Try writing there. See what happens. Some people get movie contracts, book deals and magazine articles. One woman landed on Oprah but if asked to do that, I won't.

You'll have to hook it back together to find it (sigh) Sorry. I liked the movie one better myself.
How soon will they market it? I'm betting they'll market stuff for next Christmas before January 1st of the upcoming year.
