How Many Points Can You Make in a Day?

I am new to Gather and still getting acquainted with the system.  I have been posting for about a week now.  I have earned about 130 Gather points.  It is really hard for me to tell what I am earning points from exactly, but it does seem like each day it is easier to make points than the last. 

I am just curious, if anyone is willing to share, how many points Gather members are averaging in a day.

I have no idea how many points the average person on gather makes. I know that the more articles that you post and comments you get on the articles the more points you make. Also by commenting on other peoples articles you make points.

Don't ask me how it all works though cause I'm clueless. Welcome to gather even though its a little late.

Different activities garner different amounts of points. I agree that writing articles and having people make comments yields points. Posting videos also yields points. Videos I think yield more points, but arguably takes longer.

The most I have ever racked up in a non-PWOTW day was 100. The point algorythms constantly change. So there is no secret to earning a lot of points. The more uyou participate, the more points you'll get though.

I know that before I switched to cash, I was able to generate up to 150 points per day on average (or even higher during certain Gather promotions.)

Welcome to Gather =). I have no idea how many points on average I make. I usually don't post as much as I have been lately, but I'm trying to get some more points. The points system is really confusing, so I think the amount I make everyday changes.

In order to have posts that generate comments, you need to have a bit of a history generating interesting posts, and people for the most part need a reason to comment.

The algorythm does change. Take pictures too.

I find people more willing to comment on pictures because it is quick to look, where it takes longer to read. So, keep articles short. But the key is to have an interesting headline. I also note that controversy generates comments...but I don't like conflict, so I am not going to look for an argument.
I made more than 100 points in the 24 hours after cashing out for gift cards.
You have a choice--go for points for go for interesting content and getting to know people. I don't have time for both. I enjoy the experience. But, it is nice to get a couple of $10 gift cards to Borders for my kids.

OH! And someone said longer comments get you more points. So I tried pasting in a set comment after my personal comment. I was way behind in returning comments (when you return comments, people re-comment)...and I calculated that I got about 1 point for every two comments. Seems like a lot of work if counting on it for points or cash.
I am a writer and I could make way more taking on a freelance gig here and there.
I am here for the community and experience.

I make lots of points but don't want to be specific as it may be misunderstood, but suffice it to say, after almost a year, it's wonderful. Just keep posting articles, comments, and videos. Join groups and make friends and you'll do fine.

Welcome to gather, I have not idea, somedays it seems like alot (for me) and somedays it appears I as though not that many.I comments way,way more on my connections 'stuff' that posting my own stuff. I just enjoy reading about my connections, getting ot know them, what they are interested in, their likes and dislikes. There are a couple of my connenctions that I really consider great friends, that is more what I am interested in instead of the points. (Please do not get me wrong, the G/C are great especially for my husband he loves Home Depot) Good Luck and looking forward to viewing more of your 'stuff'!!! Again, Welcome to gather!!

I've never tried to figure it out myself. Sometimes they seem to go up fast, other times they don't...? I've always been going to do some experimenting to see what makes them grow fastest, but somehow never get around to it. I pretty much ignored them for over a year, and only started cashing them out for gift cards recently... that time of year... ;-)

It varies a lot from day to day for me. But then again, the time I spend on here varies a lot from day to day. It depends on what I am doing with my son that day, and how late he sleeps in the morning, and how long he naps.

I don't know much either. It does seem that you get more points by posting pictures and articles than you do by making comments on other people's things.

I am not sure how many I make a day but I heard and have found that the more comments you leave on others pages the more you can earn as well.

Hey Heather, I cashed out last week...and I have almost 500. I say, if you want points...enjoy Gather.
Post pictures, post articles...but only one a day or they will go unnoticed. Join groups, add friends.
I can't bring myself to send mass emails...but that is supposed to gather readership.
Get a friend to sign on...worth 20 points...that was a dissapointment!

Try not to make it ALL about the points. There are quicker ways to make $50. Sure, 100 points a day is do-able, but you'd be surprised at the time you spend.
