Tonia, this is beautiful. I am curious, though, where the first photo came from. It fascinates me in its simple message--and the misspelling actually adds to the rustic nature of it.

Wow - what a lot of awesome responses! I wasn't sure whether this would appeal to folks and am most pleased that it has. I especially like that there are so many different reads on this which is something that certainly helps me stretch as a photographer.

To answer Madame D's question - the first photo was taken at a place called Wilson Park here in Fayetteville. There are a number of tiles set into the pavement. I love the message and agree that the misspelled word does enhance the concept.

I like the photos and the possibility of poetry in pictures, but off the top of my head, I think I disagree with the premise, "Nothing is as it seems." Doesn't seeming offer possibilities that could become an "is?" These pictures seem like poetry.

I hear all kinds of music when I view these images. Maybe music is my body's version of poetry.

The small spelling glitch not withstanding, the first photo got and held my attention, even as I was viewing the rest of the show, even as I took the time to read everyone's comments. Exactly what is the difference between "what is" and "what seems"?

I hear music when I view these images. So is this music? Or does is merely seem like music and really is poetry? Now I'm going to be spinning around on those two words all day ......

Each photo generates a story. I am most intrigued by the old wall with either the empty window looking into a courtyard, or a mirror reflecting what lies outside that wall. Beautiful. I am crazy about doors and windows . . . especially old ones.

I used to say that photography was painting with light now I feel I should add also, writing with light, color, form, etc. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos.

I absolutely love the tile with the misspelled word. Wow. Fayetteville, Arkansas. Who would have thought. I would love to have that tile hanging on my wall. It is awesome.
