This past week the temperatures have been in the teens and early in the morn before school and when I get home at night, thoughts of taking Tuck out for a good romp is just the last thing on mind and so I end up taking him on his leash up and down the road. Tuck is a retriever/collie and has a bundle of energy and so walking on a leash is absolutely the last thing he has on his mind when he begs to go out. Seeing that this morning the temperature was in the low 30's I knew I owed Tuck big time. So after feeding Tuck breakfast on the porch, we headed out on our favorite walk. He was liteally bouncing off the trail, he was so excited. Come hike with us and smell the pine scent in the air and hear the CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH as we walk.

"Hey, Mistress Elizabeth, hurry up and come...I've waited all week for this!

"What is all this white stuff? Where did it come from?"

"It's soft and fluffy when I touch it with my paw!"

"Maybe you can take a bath in it!"

"Maybe I can make a snow angel."

"OK, enough of this foolin' around. I need to RUN!

"Whew-weeee, that sure was good. Better then going to the gym!"

"Hey, Gather Friends, did you have a work-out! This beats Christmas shopping anyday!"

Hmmmm....
LOL
Tuck is beautiful.
A lovely walk, my friend.
I imagine you would be just like Tuck with the first snow...rolling around like Shamus at the pub!
As for shopping...when Will comes home we'll go one afternoon and evening and do the whole thing. He's real good at making lists and figurin' out what to buy for everyone. Each year I tell myself I'm going to plan ahead...but if I buy something in the summer or fall for someone I just give it to them then. Can't keep a secret worth a dime.
Tuck is adorable..a snow angel of his own! Ha.ha, Bob..you sure pick the est lines.
That image with snow on the pine needles is worth a million! Its just too good!
