Christmas Cards

I have yet to begin writing my annual Christmas letter, and I wonder...does anyone really enjoy reading these anyway? I know I enjoy reading the ones I get from friends and distant family members.

 Will you be sending out Christmas cards this year? If so, what kind do you send...traditional store bought cards, handmade cards, Christmas letter, photo greeting cards, e-cards or something else?

I try to send them out around the 10th. I enjoy getting cards and letters to catch up with old friends.

I haven't done mine yet either. I hope to get the newsletter out this week. My 16 year old granddaughter likes to write about herself for the newsletter, so I'm still waiting.
Got a few cards though. The first one came from the paper man.

I like to be original in our card-giving.
I usually design and make the cards myself, but I didn't have time to do that this year.
One year, I did a holiday letter and designed it to look like a newspaper. People seemed to really like that.
This year I did the store-bought cards. I'm not sure if I'm doing a newsletter or not. I also enclose a holiday family photo.

I sent out my 52 Christmas cards yesterday. I have been writing a Christmas Newsletter for 12 years now and always get great feedback on it. I love to get newsletters from family and friends, but it had to be different, if you know what I mean?! Make it fun so someone wants to read it!

I have most of my cards sent. I never get letters in mine, except for my Jr.High band instructor. I always send him a letter letting him know what I've been doing in the past year and he usually sends one back.

I always send them out, and love personalizing them! I also decorate the envelope by drawing snowflakes, snowmen, or Christams trees. I usually always write a little letter or short note too. I think its pretty much pointless to send out cards if your just gonna tag your name to it at the end.

I plan on sending our cards next week. We've never sent a Christmas letter, although we sent a picture card for years. I'd still do it except the kids refuse to pose! :0)

I haven't sent out Christmas cards for the last couple of years because there has been too much other stuff going on. This year, I've started and am about halfway done writing them. I planned on getting them in the mail this week, but then my toddler got sick. So I got behind.

I'm sending store bought cards. I considered the photo cards, but we didn't get around to getting pictures done in time. Last year we had our family picture taken November 17th, this year we still haven't got it done.

We send store bought cards, as well as email cards. I don't write a letter in mine, but my family always looks forward to my cousin Ruth's card because she types out a nice letter about the past year.

I keep it simple and include a photo if I have a good one. I hate some of the letters because they sound like bragging.

Some years I make mine, some I buy them. The only one in my family who does letters is my Sister-in-Law. I enjoy reading it as we don't see each other too often.

I am sending my cards out this weekend. I send store bought cards, and write a personal note in each. I am sending the kids' school picture for distant relatives.

Christmas letters are a nice way to sum up the whole past year. If you have a family it's a great way to brag about the kids.

I only send to the people I dont see everyday. Those friends, I hand one when they come around or I go there. If I have been able to get them a gift, I attach the card. If I have gotten them a gift card, I enclose it in a Christmas Card. Havent tried the Christmas letter, but sure enjoy getting them from friends I dont talk to as often.

I always enjoy reading the christmas letters that I get. I think they are great. I don't get a whole lot of them, and of course I love the cards people send. I need to get my hiney in gear and get mine out soon. Ugg, such a chore sometimes.

This year I was in Hawaii for the month of November so I sent all my cards--Hawaii made-- with a Honolulu postmark just for fun. Instead of a standard letter from the computer, I wrote of the highlights of the trip. Today an in-law said, "Thanks for the warm Christmas greeting."

I send out photo cards with pictures of my cats. Every year I say I'm going to get to it early, but I always stall about going through all my photos to pick the one for the card.

Guess it depends on who is sending me the Christmas letter, if I like them or not. go ahead and send them out. If they don't like it, no one if forcing them to read it.

I have sent out all my cards so far with the exception of my mother-in-law and one brother-in-law as I still have to send each of them a package as well. I have never written a "Christmas letter" or newsletter, nor have I ever received one. I'd love to read them if they were sent to me, but I don't know anyone who does this.

I always enjoy reading Christmas letters/cards that I receive. I send out Christmas cards myself and save the letter writing for during the year when I have pictures to send out of my girls, although I didn't get around to that this year. For the 2nd year, I am doing photo cards. I have gotten really good deals on them and they are easier to send than regular cards.

The only Christmas card I get each year is from my best friend's family. I like getting it because it's just a group picture of their family, sometimes including their animals. It's usually very cute.

I do enjoy these things. It's usually the only time of year I hear frmo friends back home. I susually write one and send to them as well.

I do the traditional Christmas cards and they have been sent out! Apprx 100 cards and I feel like I have 'writer's cramp'. I sign for me and hubby and write a little extra (something different for each person).

I love the notes that come in Christmas cards. It's such a good way to catch up with far away friends. I make my own Christmas cards and write personalized nores to most of them.

I really enjoy getting people's Christmas letters. I've started to save them and put them in my scrapbook so that years from now we can look back at our friends' and families' lives.

I won't be sending a letter. I can't think of anyone I would send it to that does not already know about my Dad's accident and spinal cord injury. That and there really isn't anything positive to share about 2007, it hasn't been a particularly good year.

I sent out my cards tonight, about 45. I don't mind putting a little note in the card but not into xmas letters, I have a cousin who does that and it seems a bit braggish. Just my opinion. Or could be just how she is. LOL

I know you are attempting to reach 3000, and I know you can do it. Just pick a few connections every day, and go through all of their photos and or articles, leaving a generic comment on each. I wish you all the best of luck in reaching your Gather goals.

I do read the Christmas newsletters my friends send me. I find them interesting and it's nice to feel more up-to-date as to what's been going on in their lives for the past year. I usually send typical store bought cards and that's what I did this year.

Christmas newsletters get tossed in the trash without being read, but I adore Christmas cards! The letters seem so impersonal, like junk mail...Merry Christmas!

I always send Christmas cards. I try to make some homemade for family and store bought for everyone else. Haven't been able to make any homemade in a couple of years though
