I think that it is only a decision that you can make for yourself. I am certain that you will receive loving, caring feedback and support here on Gather...but I don't think that you should do it until you feel in your heart that you are ready to take this step.

Thank you Tara. I know that talking about such things usually does help and considering that it's the holiday season, I think it might help me quite a bit. I've basically kept quiet about the whole thing because I didn't want people to pity me, that would have made me feel worse. Now I am thinking that sharing the story will help comfort me some and help me to keep striving to go forward.

I think when you're ready would be a good time. I think there are a lot of great people here that would support you. If you think it would make you feel better, then maybe you should, but you're the one that can decide that.

Definitely don't allow ratings, there would be no need for that. But do, when you feel you are ready, allow yourself to share. Mostly you will find not pity, but support and compassion. It sounds as if it would be important to you and would mean a lot to you to honor her in this way. You will know when, when you need to.
