Deceiving Snow (haiku)

 The new snow looks so soft and fluffy but stepping outside one discovers that it is deceiving.  The tempuratures are cold and harsh.

Crispness of new snow

Deceives us with its softness

Bringing harsh coldness

Beautiful! I remember the fresh crispness of the snow of colder climes. The ground never freezes here so snow soon becomes slush. It's beautiful as it falls, and I love to read the critter tracks but it melts into a mess all too soon.
