I did it!

Today I finally sent in my resignation.... I'm officially a stay at home mom! I'll be going back to finish the year and clean up any loose ends, but for all accounts I'm done. I am so excited, but at the same time a little nervous. We'll have a pretty strict budget to follow, and I'm not used to that! I hope to find a part time job eventually to give us some spending money, hopefully doing something I enjoy. It will be nice to no longer feel compromised by what I do for a living.

In the meantime I plan to enjoy every minute of watching C grow and learn new things! I think this is the best gift I could possibly give her!

Congratulations!

My last day at my job was September 29, 2006. It cut our income in half. Yes, money is tight, but you find ways to manage.

I do not regret my decision one bit!!!!!

Thanks everyone! We cut our income in half also, but we saved a lot these past few years to give us a good cushion. We know we won't be saving any money during this time, but we'll be fine!

I have to say, you miss the adult interaction from your job. Trust me it sounds so glamourous a nd it's harder than you think. If you can handle nOT working go for it! I am home more now that they are older and am happier to work part time now.

I don't expect it to be glamorous - there are days when I don't even get to take a shower! I'm doing it b/c I think it's the best way to give our daughter a good start in life. We have very busy social lives, so I do get a fair amount of adult interaction.
