Here's a great letter to the editor from the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier.
Chris Dodd is the only Democratic candidate for president with a bold plan to stop global warming and end America's dependence on foreign oil. The other candidates repeat the same ideas, but only Dodd's energy plan has been hailed by Al Gore, Bill Bradley and John Kerry as fresh and creative.
To be serious about global warming and energy independence, our nation must move away from fossil fuels. To do this, Chris Dodd proposes a combination of new energy technologies, conservation, and a Corporate Carbon Tax. Experts on energy and the environment know that a carbon tax is the only serious way to discourage the use of fossil fuels, and Dodd is the only candidate who publicly supports it. While the rest of the Democratic field fears being demonized for advocating a new "tax," Dodd has taken a bold move and done what is courageous and right for our environment and for our nation.
An energy policy can no longer be a political afterthought. America's energy policy will affect our national security, our health, our environment and our economy.
Dodd's plan will stop global warming, create new energy-related jobs, and make us safer by ending our dependence on the Middle East's oil. That is why I'm supporting Chris Dodd at the Democratic caucus on Jan. 3. I hope you will join me.
