8 Things
I was tagged to do this a few days ago but just noticed now. This is harder than it first appeared – I think 4 would have been much easier but 8 is hard.
8 Things I Am Passionate About:
1.) Playtime. Everyone, both adults and children need to take time out to enjoy themselves sometimes
2.) Kindness. I think the world would be a better place if everyone just treated all other living creatures with kindness and decency
3.) Music. My father and step-father are both musicians and can not remember a time when it has not been important in my life, and I love to watch how my daughter reacts to different kinds of music and musical instruments (right now she loves drums)
4.) Creativity. Without the ability to create where would be as a species
5.) Plants. I just love to watch things grow
6.) Art and Artists. My mother, brother and myself are all artists as well as many of my friends art enriches lives and artists are interesting people to know.
7.) Breastfeeding. I breastfed my daughter for 15 months and during that time became vary passionate about the issue and a mother’s rights pertaining to it, also the fact that the formula companies put so much money into convincing mothers that formula is better than breast milk.
8.) Local Economy. I think it is important to support economies, to do so I have to buy fewer things but get so much more back in my community because of it..
8 Things I Want To Do Before I Die:
1.) Travel to the Orkney and Shetland Islands again.
2.) Buy a house and give my daughter a yard of her own to play in.
3.) Have a large organic garden.
4.) Sell a piece of my art.
5.) Have a PLANNED pregnancy.
6.) Fit into my pre-pregnancy sized leather pants.
7.) Successfully train a dog.
8.) Drive a Mustang Convertible (rented, I would never buy one) across the country
8 Things I Say Often:
1.) “There’s a shock” said sarcastically
2.) “You okay?” (I have a toddler)
3.) “Oh, Bugger”
4.) “Do you need a diaper?”
5.) “Audrey where did you put your juice?”
6.) “You can’t have ice cream for breakfast.”
7.) “Careful”
8.) “Stop wiggling so I can put your pants on.” (mainly said to my 23 month old but sometimes to my boyfriend)
8 Books I Have Read Recently:
1.) Savage Beauty by Nancy Milford
2.) Bagombo Snuffbox by Kurt Vonnegut
3.) What to Expect – The Toddler Years
4.) The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle
5.) A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
6.) The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding from the La Leche League
7.) Dave Barry Hits Below the Beltway by Dave Barry
8.) Do cook books count for this list?
8 Songs I Could Listen To Over And Over:
1.) “Woman” by John Lennon
2.) “Refugee” by Tom Petty
3.) “Turn the Page” by Bob Seeger
4.) “Star Fell on Alabama” sung by Ella and Louis
5.) “The Thrill is Gone” by B.B. King
6.) “Four Strong Winds” sung by Schooner Fare
7.) “Time and Tide” by Rise (not The Rise)
8.) “The Road’s My Middle Name” by Bonnie Raitt
8 (okay only 6) Things That Attract Me To My Best Friends:
1.) A similar sense of humor (especially since I just don’t get Ed’s sense of humor)
2.) Enjoying at least a couple of the same activities
3.) Being willing to tell me when I am acting like a moron
4.) Being willing to hurt my feelings to help me be a better person or out of a need to strengthen our friendship
5.) Enjoyment of card games
6.) Kindness
I really don’t think I can come up with more so this one will have to end at 6.
I encourage anyone who wants to to try these.
