Santa came to our neighborhood tonight!

Every year in December you can hear sirens really close, and wonder what is going on.  They keep going and going, and you remember Santa is coming!  The kids run outside and the parents run after them.  There is a scuttle to find out how close he is.  Tonight I heard the sirens and knew Santa was close.  I opened the front door and saw the flashing red and blue lights of a police motorcycle sounding his horn.  The big hook and ladder truck came next.  Then we saw Santa on a flat bed with his reindeer.  He yelled ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!  All the children got candy canes.  Santa went down the street to wish others a Merry Christmas, and the sirens faded off into the distance.

So much fun! When my kids were little they would get so excited when Santa rode through the streets in a patrol car with the sirens and lights. Now I am the only one that gets excited.

What fun that used to be! When I was a kid, Santa came around on the fire truck every year handing out candy canes to the kids. It was great. Now I've moved and they don't seem to do that around here :( Thanks for sharing about your Santa visit!

I think that's wonderful. In one area of Bakersfield (where we used to live as I was growing up), you can call and request that Santa come to your house with Mrs. Claus, for free! I wish they offered it in the area that we live now, I think the kids would get a kick of it, heck, I would too! :)

I wish we had something like that, I hear sirens all day all the time but that is because the firehouse is next door.

WOW! It must be the REAL Santa. Our Santa never goes to a neighborhood...only the stores. That's how I know he isn't the REAL one.
