I decided to post a photo essay of my Cowboy Christmas tree after several people expressed interest in it. I started out 4 or 5 years ago by just hanging one cowboy/western ornament on my tree I had received as a gift. Then I got a wild idea to make it a "theme" tree and went looking for more ornaments to add to it. I gradually added to my collection each year. Now it's to the point where I have no more room on the tree for anymore and I have several just sitting around the house as decorations. I always keep my eyes open for new and interesting ornaments that fit the theme. A couple years ago I came up with the idea of using bandannas for garland. A friend of mine used silver conchos to string them together and you can see the result hanging on the tree. I hope you enjoy the photos!
(I apologize for some of these being blurry..that's what happens when you get in a hurry..lol)
We'll start with the man himself! Cowboy Santa!
Or is this Cowboy Santa??
Of course, what's a cowboy without his boots?
And then there's the RODEO cowboy!
There's even cowboy snowmen!
You can see one of the silver conchos used to join the bandanas together in this one too.
A Santa on horseback
A cowboy Christmas cowbell
A real cowBOY
Of course you have to have the COW...
And the horse
(this one happens to have my nieces baby pic. in it..lol)
The obligatory wagon wheel..
Santas from the southwest apparently?
Ropin' it up
Even Christmas horseshoes!
A bandanna star..
Yep..that's me.. Just a cowboy at heart! C):-)
To top it off..
And the finished product:
In the light
And by it's own light!
