have to have a tantrum any minute now.
We are having very snowy, blowy conditions in the Midland area. But even so, I checked conditions to the North of us and all sources said all was well. I checked my email and the University's webpage before leaving. No indication that anything was either closed or cancelled.
So - I got in my car and drove North. The roads cleared before long - so I did not turn back as I promised Ross I would if they were nasty.
I drove to Sudbury.
And here I sit. Alone. In my classroom.
There are no emails. No signs on the door. And no notice posted on the University website.
Just silence.
I was absent last week. But I DID email the prof after that class to check about the quiz, etc. He responded - but did not mention anything different about today's class.
Apparently, I - who still have 3 essays, 3 exams, and far better things to do with my time that waste EIGHT HOURS of it driving in winter conditions, and sitting in my car waiting for it to be time for class.
Apparently everyone who lives near here KNEW not to come tonight - or to go someplace different.
I am SO angry I could scream. Or cry.
But I think that - instead - I will dry my tears and head home.
I SPOKE to the prof about the distance I travel and needing lots of notice if there is not going to be a class. He said he understood and that he would make sure....
Fat lot of &PO^*^$%&^$!!! good that is.

Then I'd have a drink.
So off I went on what would normally take a little ove half an hour, that turned into TWO hours of white knuckle travel to find the PROF. didn't show! grrrrr!
I would be livid.
(lets just say NOT pleased)
Is there a number you can call to check or what is the procedure?

but I DID email the prof, with whom I had an agreement that if he were cancelling class for any reason he would let me know.
Even if he didn't NOTICE that I wasn't there last week, my email to him, explaining my absence and asking if I should come in EARLY should have jogged his memory.
What a flipping waste of time.
He sent one about the extension on our paper, which is no longer due Jan 7 (so I guess I can assume next week is cancelled too)
I drove all the way to Sudbury today :( 6+ hours (I left early because the roads were LOUSY at this end) that I could HAPPILY have spent studying for the 3 exams or writing the 3 papers I have left over the next week or so.
I am SO not happy - I thought we had an agreement that if you were cancelling classes you would let me know.
Maybe you should remind him of your dedication to his class at a later date when it would be adventagious?
A waste of eight hours is hardly standard student determination ;)
