Any Good Venison Recipes Out There?

I am not a hunter, but I have many friends and relatives that love to hunt. I am an avid cook and I do enjoy venison if it is prepared properly. If you have any good recipes for venison that you would like to share please post them to my group:

Sorry J. the few times we had venison, my hubby made it like a roast. Very delicious but he is not home at the moment.

I've eaten a stew that was delicious, but I didn't cook it and don't know the recipe. All I can say is I know that it can be done and that it can be delicious. And I'm not going to go get a deer to learn how to cook it.

I make Venison stew. Make it like you're making a beef stew, you might want to cook the Venison extra long because it can be a little tough. Bon Appitie!!!

Our family... avid deer hunters. We always have venison in the freezer and I cook with it regularily. The only difference is that venison is very lean, high in protein. You can mix it so that there is 50/50 ratio of venison to beef. ( When cooking with the ground ) This helps to make sure that it does not dry out or get too tough. It also helps to cut down on the "gamey" flavor if you are not accustomed to it. Another tip, for any cut, garlic powder also helps to cut down the gamey flavor. - I don't normally change a recipe if I am using venison. I just try to keep in mind that venison will dry out much faster, and needs to cooked slower. Hope this helps.
