Comcast Isn't Comcastic!

So I go downstairs to watch Amazing Race and our cable is out. We call Comcast and they told us there is a problem with service in Marietta (where I live) that was ticketed at 3:00 p.m.  Engineers are still working on whatever the problem is. Meanwhile, no Amazing Race for me. I can't even DVR it since there is no cable.

Will someone please post a comment here and let me know who goes home tonight?

I'm annoyed.

Well John, you don't have to watch it now since there are spoilers here in this article, lol.

Sheryl, I don't know why those two are together. They're always fighting with eachother. I had to laugh last week when they were whining about the brother & sister coming in first again.

Marianne yeah that is a CBS show right? I watch TV shows online ALL the time...I am checking the stations now to see if they have full episodes...they only do a few shows, but I think I have seen that one....BRB

And when the shows are online they are usually the day after the show has aired....there is one show I watch on MTV & it is same day which is really cool ;o).

This is the first time we've really had any trouble with the regular Comcast cable. Now we do have issues with the HD channels sometimes, but not lately. I'm just glad we don't use them for our Internet. Cause I assume that's out too.

You are so right! We have a problem with water getting in the cable even though we are supposed to be "wireless". Yeah...right. Fuzzy pictures, unpredictable outages...you name it, we get it!

I keep having trouble with them too Marianne. Comcast told me that when the weather turns cold it takes a while for the cables to get used to the cold and warm that we have on winter days here in Georgia. Of course I don't buy that. It's still doing it after several weeks. My cable keep pixelating, something terrible to the point where the screen freezes. Then I get a message saying just a moment please. GMAB (give me a break!)

We've gotten that before too Roxanna, and that is usually weather related. Their satellites not getting a clear sky signal. Whatever was wrong yesterday was probably a line cut. It was just totally out.

I HATE Comcast. We can never get on Demand service and after months and months they cannot figure out why. They are no good and no help. I think I rather have some other company providing cable service.

We were on adelphia and then adelphia was sold to Comcast. I swear, in the three years we had Adelphia, we never lost service except once during a very bad storm, and then it was only for about 1/2 an hour. Now, it's a weekly happening...and you usually when you desperately need Internet access or when something you're dying to see is on. I don't have another choice except satellite.

We have Comcast, we signed up for the Triple Play, because it was supposed to be $99 for a year, then of course they charge you to rent the modem, and then if you want digital cable that is an extra $15 or so, and well all sorts of other fees that add up, but then after the year all of a sudden our bill went up to OVER $180 a month, we were in shock when we got our bill, because we can't afford that.
They are supposed to have fixed it for us, and put us back on the $99 plan but the last bill we got it wasn't fixed yet...
They said that the following one it would, and we would also be credited back any extra that we had paid over the $99 the past couple of months, so I am hoping that our next bill we won't have to even pay anything..

I know what you mean, we use to have Comcast and we kept having problems with our internet. Every other day it was out and I would call them and they kept saying it was a problem in our area or we were still online, I got tired of calling and hearing excuses.

I called Knology and now we have Cable and internet with Knology and we have NO problems, I love them.

I'm not familiar with Comcast. We have Dish Network satellite. That does suck though. We got Showtime just so I could watch The Tudors and our satellite messed up and I ended up not getting to watch any of the episodes in the beginning. We called them and they ended up coming out and moving our satellite to a different location and giving us a refund for the months we paid for the Showtime but were unable to watch it.

Marianne, I live in Atlanta probably about 10 miles from you. We switched to Direct TV about a year ago and like it much better than Comcast.
