I only go to family events. In the past, the only Christmas parties held were through Nick's old work, and there was no way we were going to that snob-fest. They always liked to make it required, but it was held at night at some fancy rstaurant, and kids weren't allowed. So not only were we required to go, we had to pay a babysitter in order to attend. We never once went.

I have just had my 60th birthday party and it went very well and have a number of events coming up, one a works christmas party which is usually quite good and a party for himself's Car club he has Triumph 6, which I am not looking forward to as it will be Cars Cars and more Cars all night.
Best of all I like it when friends and family get together, that is my favourite type of party

My company used to have a Christmas party but the last one was the year before I started. I don't have any to attend this year but have in the past.

on Dec 8th I am giving a surprise 80th Birthday party for my Dad's girlfriend, and I have a Christmas party to go to that night, Wish me luck

We will most likely go to my husband's squadron Christmas party. We planned on taking our toddler to the squadron children's party, but he was just getting over his first cold. I didn't want him around other kids.

We will probably go to my husband's work Christmas party. It is the most boring thing ever. We have a few snacks and that's about it. Last year it lasted about 30 minutes.

I like to attend Christmas Parties that are for the whole family. When my work had a christmas party for employees and spouses, it was fun, but I didn't care for it when they said it was for staff only.

Had an open house last night, o I am done entertaining for the season. I don't might attending a friend's party, but dislike corporate parties.

I attend some at work but they are more like office luncheons then parties, fun though. Then a special group of friends and I instead of buying gifts, we do an outing such as a lunch or movie when we are all free to celebrate. Then, I go to family parties.

Only family stuff here and not much of that. We aren't big into them anyway.

A lot of businesses have nixed parties because of the liability issues.

I usually attend the "holiday" yankee swap at work. It's just a simple party with the yankee swap then they have a much bigger employee appreciation dinner for us in January.

My family doesn't host parties, and the parties that my friends throw are just general ones.

As a Scot, our biggest 'holiday' is Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) when we have a huge, traditional family party, with all the old Scots customs like firstfooting, opening all the windows of the house to hear the 'bells'... Too much food, too much drink, but a great time.

Edinburgh also hosts what it calls the biggest street party in the world http://www.edinburghshogmanay.org
