I got this recipe years ago in a Church cookbook that my husband bought for me from one of the ladies he worked with at the time. The name of the cookbook was Chirstmas Goodies and the recipe was submitted by Nita Smith. My son used to help me make these every year at Christmas when he was little and now he often still makes them for us at Christmas or helps me. Maybe you'd like to make some with your children this year.
Peanut Butter Balls
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 box confectioners sugar
2 sticks butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix all together and roll into balls.
1/4 stick wax
large package chocolate chips
In top of double boiler, mix wax and chips togetehr. Leave over hot water and dip balls in mixture, one at a time.

Yep, Marianne, it is odd, but the wax keeps the chocolate from getting overly hard, or getting whitish when you make it. It gives it a nice brown semi-glossy look. I haven't made PB balls in a few years- maybe I should make some this year!
thanks
What is the difference between sugar and confectioners sugar?
(sorry, I must be tired tonight) lol
Kim, Chuck, You're very welcome.

Tonia, definately don't make them if you don't like PB.
Donna, I make the chocolate covered pretzels too! LOL
.Alexis, confectioners sugar is fine ground granulated sugar. You can actually make your own in a coffee grinder by grinding the reglar sugar to a fine powder.
Thanks everyone!
But we call the "buckeyes"
