~ Peering out

      crimson

          scarlet

               and mottled gold

cerulean sky

drive-in catch sight of

                November culmination

                                                 I hear your whisper

                                            in the rustle of the leaves

                                                  you enlighten *me

                                                                                           granny smith apples

                                                                                               sliced in wedges

INHALE ~ EXHALE

SEASONED OAK

AND MAPLES BURN

SMOKY AROMA

OLFACTION IGNITED

AS I WATCH THE PUFFS

BILLOWING HIGH

INTO THE NOCTURNAL AIR

                                                             Inanimite object

                                                             unvarnished

                                                             examine its smooth

                                                             porous surface

                                                             rounded , criss-cross textures

                                                             nooks and crannies

                                                             raised peaks and deep valleys

                                                                       impressions of ~ my acorn
