Are you doing homemade gifts this year?

I'm quite curious to see how many people are doing homemade gifts this year.  I know my sister in law is going to be doing a lot of baking this year cause thats about all they can afford to do (hey I love homemade goodies so its all good with me).  Her hubby is getting laid off at the end of the year and so money is tight.  

I know people that can sew really well and so they make a lot of homemade gifts. 

I'm not good at baking or at sewing so I'm kinda screwed to buying gifts from the store. (I would have for someone to try to eat my baked goods anyways!! HAHA!)

Are you making homemade gifts, and if you are what are they.  If you have pictures point me in the right direction so I can check them out.

I'm almost done making lap blankets for the people at work. After I finish crocheting the one I'm doing I'll only have 1 left!
I am doing a couple of quilts, fleece blankets and gifts in a jar!

I'm giving some homemade gifts this year. I'll do some baking and also make a few crafty items, plus hubby makes jewelry and ornaments. Money is tight for us as well since his cancer diagnosis cause he can't work. I hope you and your family have a great holiday :)

I bake old fashioned cookies and my own recipe cheesecake every year to give as part of my present to others...in addition to a few store-bought gifts. I'm a single guy, so if I can do it; anyone can. (The baked goods are always more appreciated than anything else.)

Yep, homemade all the way. Yeah, right. I am THE most untalented, crafty person in the world, so we just don't give gifts to anyone other than the kids. Also am lazy AND poor, so we don't even send out cards.

We don't do homemade gifts. We really can't do ANY gifts until we get to our destination in NY. We have enough troubles carting our luggage on the plane/train as it is.

Yes, I did make most of my presents this year. I didn't want to support other countries by buying their stuff.

Stephanie ~ Thats great. My mom does fleece blanket and her machine embrioders so she always puts the name of the person on it. She has yet to make me one though. Maybe I should hound her for one.

Raymond ~ You must be really talented. I can only draw stick figures. Just ask anyone thats played pictionary with me. I even make stick monkeys now just imagine one of those.

Rebekka ~ I am soooooooooo sorry to hear about your hubby. I will keep your family in my prayers. Someone told me how to make picture ornaments but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe I this year. They can't be too hard, I don't suppose.

Edith ~ Jams and jellies? My mom used to make those when I was a kid. I would love to have someone make me homemade jams and jellies.

I make calendars with birthdays and anniversaries posted to them. My family appreciates them too. They have inspirational quotes on each month. I also give special baked goods that are favored by everyone.

i sure would like to but there is so little time. in past years i made decoupage boxes with photos from the person's family. it was a lotta work.

Michelle ~ Definitely wouldn't do the newpaper thing since it does get black on everything. Now all I have to do is go out and buy some boxes. I might even have some from before. :)

Synchronicity ~ That does sound like a lot of work, but I bet they appreciated them. :) I bought a collage frame one year for my mother in law and put a bunch of pictures that she wanted of us in it for her. She loved it.

I am so not making anything crafty! lol. Some friends may recieve a tin of cookies or some kind of baked good. That's about as home made gift making, as I get! ha.
