Gather blocked by Digg?

Hey I just tried to Digg an article from Gather, using the links provided at the bottom of each article, and received the following error message:

URL blocked

This URL has been widely reported by users as being regularly used to spam Digg's submission process and cannot be submitted at this time.

 Does anyone know what's going on?

i've never used that feature, i expect that what you experienced is a gather glitch that will be corrected as soon as the "powers that be at gather" realize it

I guarantee it's related to the influx of spam articles that have been appearing over the last year. I keep seeing loads of garbage that are nothing more than advertising links. I'm sure those same "people" are also spamming Digg with all sorts of advertising.

Not sure, I have never used that feature either. I'll have to try it once it's working again!

Hrm, perhaps I should clarify a bit. It's not the feature in *Gather* that's broken; that's working fine. When you click on the "Digg this" link it takes you to the Digg web site and fills in the URL for you, if you have a Digg account. But when you try to submit the URL, Digg responds back that URLs containing "gather.com" are all blocked from being submitted to Digg.

Perhaps I should post an article about what Digg is? It's a social bookmarking web site (IIRC, social bookmarking is the predecessor to social networking).

Digg is cool. Somebody's been misusing the gather.com link, I suppose.

yea..I know that. Same is the case with Squidoo. I tried to submit my stuff to propeller and Mixx few days back it showed the same error!!
